LaVeyan Satanism is a type of humanist philosophy. They don’t actually oppose God (as they don’t believe in him) and to them Satan is more of a mascot or metaphor. They aren’t literal Satan worshipers.

Oddly, the Church of Satan doesn’t actually believe that Satan (or God) exists; they just use it as a symbol of self-indulgence and because they know it pisses off the mainstream. I find it hard to take them seriously.

Not quite. Satan is a created creature, a fallen angel. There is no ‘opposite to God’. That’s like saying, ‘the opposite of the universe’.
