Racism is the belief that one race is inferior to another. No where in this comparison does the poster imply superiority or inferiority. In fact, it is the interpreter that chooses to imagine racist intent with what little information is supplied.

Uhm, one of the first pics on this site compares Bush to a chimp. If you think comparing a white guy to a primate is OK, and comparing a black guy to an ape is NOT okay, what criteria are you using to make that determination? Could it, possibly, just maybe, be race? And if so, what does that make you?

Seriously, I’m white and when I first saw this comparison, the infamous Howard Cosell “Look at that monkey run” statement came up in my mind along with all the other contriversal comparisons that white people have put on african americans to monkeys, apes or gorillas. Its been a VERY long standing issue and personally, even being white. I do as well find the comparison offensive. I understand how some that are ignorant to the issue posted this along with their “lolz” comments. But the issue is not funny. I’m personally in favor of the deletion of this particular post.
This is indeed racist and those of you that dont believe so need to do some reading and become less ignorant to what is racist and whats not. You can bet if someone compared a picture of a white person to a picture of a cracker shaped like a face, there would be an outcry. Especially if the post was by an african american person.

P.S. Evolution from Primate to Human does not exist (primates that have existed for centurys still exist), Creation Does (There is a God). However thats an entirely different conversation. To say that we all evolved from primates shows that you’re on a lower level of intellegence as archeology and other scientific studies have proven otherwise. Go back to school.

As yes, let’s say archeology and other scientific studies have proven otherwise, completely ignoring such finds as Australopithicus afarensis, Homo habilis, Australopithicus robustus, and all the other various hominids linked to the evolution of modern man. And of course there are still primates around that have existed for centuries. Evolution and extinction can be quite mutually exclusive at times.
As for if the picture is “racist”, well, if you want to believe it’s racist, go right ahead, nobody really cares to stop a fool determined to be a fool. The basic fact is, the man, who happens to be black, dyed his hair funny, and is in a pose similar to a cartoon gorilla, who happened to be silver as well. It would be racist if the picture was “Any average black man looks like…”, but it’s not. It’s a specific individual who quite frankly, looks like Donkey Kong, and it doesnt’ quite matter what color his skin is, the individual made himself look funny.
It’s knee-jerk reaction. THAT is a sign of low intelligence. Either in going along with the age old stereotypes, or railing against them… both are just validating and perpetuating those stereotypes and keeping them more alive than they deserve to be.
Take another example. You have a guy on a TV sitcom sit down at the family picnic, and he smiles happily as he gets a big piece of let’s say…. watermelon. If it’s Ray Romano or such, we laugh, what a dope. If it’s Damon Wayans though, oh watch out, it’s racist! Only people allowed to enjoy watermelon are non-black! Right?
Or we could all just grow up, leave racial stereotypes and fears in the past where they belong and just laugh at each other as equals who realize, we all look kinda funny and ugly.
Humans didn’t evolve from apes- they both evolved from a common ancestor. And even if they had, saying “apes still exist” wouldn’t disprove it. Take a sixth grade science class, whydontcha?
Your comments on the theory of creation vs. evolution are irrelevant to the conversation. To argue that the theory of creation is factual based merely shows that you are yet another ignorant person keen on arguing your faith against scientific fact.
By the by, true science and archaeology (notice the correct spelling.) has proven that creation is a myth.
