In Dom’s cookbook, “Eat This–You’ll Feel Better!”, there’s a brief story (with photos) of Dom showing up at Paul’s K-Paul restaurant dressed as Paul and claiming the real Paul was an impostor. Judging by their cookbooks, they’re both phenomenal chefs.

Sure they do, but come on, this is more than just your typical fat-guy-looks-like fat-guy. The beards, the hats….and I’m one of many on here that saw the “Paul Prudhomme” labels in grocery stores and thought it was Dom Deluise.

Maybe they were “brothas from another motha”. They could have passed for twins. Did they ever meet? Amazing!

As a product from the ole’ school, I remember watching and laughing whenever Dom DeLuise was on. There was even a short tune about his name when he was on one of the talk shows–”Dommmmm De Luise!”

Paul Prudhomme is still alive. I am from New Orleans and Live in New Orleans and I often see him. He does signings all over New Orleans for his books. I use to think as a child they were the same, but not any more.

It’s funny… Dom joked in a 1987 Associated Press interview that he had posed as Prudhomme while visiting his New Orleans restaurant. I’m totally bummed Dom is dead. He was a great actor.

I grew up in Louisiana, and I can say with authority that they are definitely NOT the same person. Paul Prudhomme was a fat, jolly chef when Dom DeLuise was still marginally thin!

The easiest way to tell them apart (now) is the positioning of grey in their beards; plus Dom’s face always looks like he’s laughing. Paul looks appropriately jovial, but not quite like he’s laughing his butt off at life =D

Like ihailu said, that was the ep known as ‘Urgo’. Hella hella funny and totally freakin’ quotable. Peter DeLuise wears many hats on that Stargate including actor, writer, director, producer and creative consultant. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could throw a ton of other stuff into the mix on that, too.

Both of Peter’s brothers, Michael and David, have been on the show as well – David playing a character named ‘Pete’, which always makes me giggle.

(Me before coffee, so ALL facts aren’t up and running) — I love the episode of Stargate SG-1 where Dom DeLuise plays the computer alien put into the team’s heads (Ergo?). His son, Peter, is the producer (I think – one of the main execs, at least) of the show, so I’m sure he knew his father was perfect for the part. Peter did a “walk on” (in this case, more like a “beam on” ) as a younger version of his father’s character. One of the funnier episodes of the series – early season.
