By the way, just so everyone knows, that particular Black Mage is from Final Fantasy IX (9 for those who don’t know Roman Numerals). His name is Vivi Ornitier, and he is one bad-ass mama jamma. I honestly don’t see the resemblance between the two, I mean kind of but not quite so… pronounced. If you know what I mean.
i agree… he kind of looks like Vivi but…not really…and I’m sure Vivi is more kickass (i don’t know the character from he-man but i DO know Vivi and final fantasy) ^.-

i actually think this is kinda getting away from what makes this website awesome. when you get into animated characters of course the same imagery is going to be floating around a lot. this is like saying a transformer totally looks like a go-bot.
The little guy who follows Snow White around in the movie “Happily Ever After” looks like Orko, too.

It used to be funny? When was that? A few weeks ago when it started? Yeah dammit we ruined this classic site.

And yet you can’t seem to stay away… for shame, you continue to return to this site the same way a child pokes at a canker sore, or picks at his scab. For some reason you feel compelled to continue returning to this site. You, dear mack, have a lot of issues.
Well, one has to admit that Vivi is pretty much a standard Black Mage character; that was the point of FFIX, after all: an homage to all prior FF games, before the franchise moved to the PS2 (Jitan = thief, Garnet = white mage, Freija = red mage, Steiner = fighter/knight, Eiko = summoner, Quina = blue mage). So labelling him a Black Mage isn’t inaccurate, just incomplete.
That said, Vivi is easily one of the most adorable charas in the FF franchise. I still cry when the enhanced Black Mage attacks the airship and blasts all the Black Mages as they move to protect Vivi, and Vivi has to watch them tumble in slow-mo to their lives and deaths.

vivi, vivi, vivi, blah…. people refering to said character as black mage are also accurate. at the character selection screen on ff1, the character is black mage. and it is up to the player to name him. vivi is just the name of one of MANY black mages in ff9.
