On his last appearance in the scene where he gets shot, he performs his last part and dies of a heart attack, and eveyone thinks it’s acting.

I’ll admit that the DN movies kind of sucked, but what I won’t admit is that the manga was stupid because it wasn’t.
Unlike Hercules, Death Note relates to real life controversies, and about the definition of righteous and evil, something that will never be agreed upon by absolutely everyone. Hercules is just about the past, whereas Death Note actually takes place a bit in the future, going into early 2010.

Awesome resemblance. I haven’t seen Hercules in a while, so it’s not too much of a surprise that I didn’t see that resemblance when I saw (and read) Death Note.

On the subject of Death Note, I’m shocked that L didn’t die from diabetes or something. Did he ever NOT have some sort of sugar-filled snack of goodness on route to his digestive system? I mean, REALLY…

To be honest, I would’ve sided with Light…but what turned me around is that Light wanted the world know he existed…I know it would give a hint to the world that someone was passing judgement…but the only time he screwed up, was when he suddenly decided to switch from making people think he was a student, and then killed people on the hour, that basically narrowed it down to a very small minority, and the worst part is, he knew that he could kill people on the hour, days in advance, he just wanted L to suspect the police…if that hadn’t happened, he would’ve continued his studies, while killing people, and the police would have a real hard time to find him…plus, the second thing that made me think Light is extremely stupid…if you watched the english dub of death note, when Light explains how he hid the death note, he said that if someone questionned why he burned the house down, he said the reasonable answer was that the his real journal was there…which I found that…the dude has a superiority complex and thinks that everyone’s an idiot…that’s what made me hate him…plus….L is epic…

No, Hades=King of Hades. Jove, Poseidon, and Hades all chose which kingdom they desired, thus, they were all unassociated gods that chose a kingdom. Also, they are different kinds of death god. In greek mythology The Fates decided life and death, Hades just took care of your soul and had his subjects divide you amongst the three (I believe) planes of the underworld.

Death Note is sooo much better than Hercules. It was alright, but it was one of those second-rate Disney movies that just doesn’t measure up to the classics, and there’s no way it even approaches an amazing anime like Death Note. Now, I haven’t read the manga so I can’t have an opinion about which is better, but even if the manga IS better, that doesn’t diminish the show at all. It’s intelligent, complicated, fascinating characters…everything a good series needs.

And because I have to throw in my comment on the whole L/Light thing…L is NOT amazing, he’s just an arrogant freak. Which, granted, could be said about Light but since I side with him, that’s not my opinion. Light is strong, cunning, and he sets out in the beginning to rid the world of evil. Even if he gets corrupted, that always happens with power. It doesn’t mean he isn’t the best, and it doesn’t meant that he wasn’t initially right.

I kinda hate how Disney tries to make things all Sun-shiney though. Hera was the one that wanted him dead… And Zeus probably screwed like 150 people between the time Hercules was concieved and then rewarded with the title of a god. Uh. Hades = God of Hades. The ancients who invented him didn’t believe in Heaven or Hell, just Hades, where everybody went, good or bad.

So technically, both Gods of death, only difference being that Hades was THE God of death.
