Bernard Hill was born in Manchester, UK, “Real” Earth, 17 Dec 1944 A.D.
Robert Plant was born in West Bromwich, UK, “Real” Earth, 20 Aug 1948 A.D.
King Théoden was born in Gondor, Middle Earth, T.A. 2948, which is a hellava long time ago, but it was Middle Earth, not “Real” Earth.
However, the LOTR trilogy was written in stages on “Real” Earth between 1937 and 1949 A.D., and casting Bernard for the part of Théoden wasn’t until 1999.
