also, i found a lot of “(famous person) looks like (not really famous person)” funny. i didn’t know a lot of the people on some pages, but they were still funny.
i guess maybe i’m more easily amused, & less picky with my humor..?

i didn’t know the drummer of the killer’s name was ronnie until now. but i recognized him from tv which was all it took for it to be funny. he didn’t have to have his own wikipedia page [although the killers do as a band.]

so many people watch the killers on tv & instinctively say “hey, is that earl?!”

I wrote a review of the Killers’ CD that came out at the time they all grew that facial hair. I remember commenting on Vannucci’s drumming while writing something to the effect of “with his ‘My Name is Earl’ mustache.”

My point is that the more obscure they are, usually the less funny they are. (famous person) looks like (famous person) is sometimes funny. (famous person) looks like (animal/object/etc.) is almost always funny. (famous person) looks like (not really famous person) is rarely funny, and (not really famous person) looks like (not really famous person) is usually not funny at all.

Hungarian composers, professors at your college, members of crappy bands (the 2nd from The Killers, by the way), Scottish painters, poets, these people are usually not really famous. Go ahead and say “Hey, I knew who that guy was! Blah blah blah.” It doesn’t matter. Start with this rule of thumb: if the person doesn’t have their own wikipedia page, they’re probably not famous enough.
