Any theater community will tell you the same.
Meryl Streep is not only a great actress* but is also beautiful, maybe not in a classic or youth-centric way, but with an interesting face (that’s more of a compliment than it sounds like) and a sort of luminescence.
The world is a big enough place to support more than one narrow definition of beauty.
