It seems to me that look-alikes that have already appeared elsewhere on the site are cheats in the Totally Looks Like category. When that cat picture first appeared, it carried the caption “Owl Cat… is wise” or something like that. Just seems like if you take someone else’s lolpic/caption and submit it as your own, it takes a vast majority of the funny out of the TLL.

It seems that something around 70% of these tend to come from other places or are references to the same person in different movies, etc.
