Could this be a generation gap? Dylan has written some of the greatest pieces ever to come out of the 60s – he is not the greatest “singer” in the world, but obviously some of us liked him enough to keep him famous.

And even though I’ve only recently seen episodes with The First Doctor, Tom Baker is still my favorite – although I really like the modern concept of Dr. Who (and do adore both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant).

If you watched some of the episodes leading up to his exit as the Doctor, you’ll notice that he missed a lot of his lines, “fluffing the lines” is what I heard in a commentary. The producers and the BBC wanted to continue the show, but didn’t want to just throw a look-alike in his place, and since he’s an alien, they came up with the regeneration thing so they could replace the actor, and do so again in the future if needed.

PS: I made a replica 12th season scarf. It’s nice and warm.

Davidson WAS Tennant’s Doctor, hence the special “meetup”. Tom Baker was by far the best doctor, although I really liked Davidson myself (that’s when I started watching it). TOM Baker has to be the most well known Doctor, by far though. I just hope they find a Doctor after Tennant that lives up to the imagination as the others before him. HIM? Wouldn’t it be great if the Doctor regen’d as a female? Just sayin’…

Some people just crazy. Incidentally, the list of people *wanting* to do a spot on The Simpsons is pretty long. How do you know that Baker hasn’t been put on that list? Anyhow, I think that he’s got the most distinctive look of all the Doctors, which is likely why he’s used whenever a cameo needs to be made.

Actually, Tennant’s favorite Doctor was five–Peter Davison (and not just because Tennant is currently doing his daughter). In “Time Crash,” 10 meets 5 in the TARDIS because of the “wibbely wobbely timey wimey thing” and he tells him how 5 was “his” Doctor, and he lists all the things that he took from 5, like the shoes, the glasses, how his voice squeaks when he yells, etc.
