Trotsky’s hair is just scary!!
almost would have been better with robert pattingson instead of zach braff…
looksalike FAIL.
Major fail, major
though there is some slight similarity with the totally blecch hair,, i do have to agree with this..
Except not really.
Not at all!
Ummm, no.. Zach is at least cute.
… No.
…the name is leo trotsky…
Actually, it IS Leon Trotsky.
uhh yeah that famous AUTHOR!!!!! OMFG!
He wasn’t an author…
No he wasn’t. Try: “War Commisar of the Red Army.”
Trotsky was a key figure in the Bolshevik seizure of power in Russia, second only to Lenin in the early stage of Soviet communist rule. However, he lost out to Stalin in the power struggle that followed Lenin’s death, and was assassinated while in exile.
he was assassinated with and ax to the skull and still had the balls to spit on the on his assassin; and the ax didn’t kill him directly, he died of a brain infection.
Well, they may not look alike, but at least (as has been said here) Braff and Trotsky have that in common — the ability to annoy and inflame people to the point of planting an axe in thier skulls …
Well, he was assassinated by one of Stalin’s agents. I don’t think he was assassinated because he annoyed him too much. He was assassinated so that Stalin wouldn’t have to worry about Trotsky. And he wasn’t in exile. He moved to Mexico.
First thing: He didn’t lose out to Stalin. Lenin wanted Trotsky in place as his natural successor. Stalin wasn’t going to have that, so after Lenin’s death he steamrollered his way into power, executing or assassinating all those in his way.
Second Thing: He did not die of a Brain “infection”. He died of severe brain damage, caused by having an Ice pick implanted in his head (albeit a day after the attack)
Third Thing: He was exiled. He went round Europe for a bit, before moving to Mexico, where he lived with Diego Rivera until they had an argument.
BTW If Trotsky wasn’t assassinated he probably wouldn’t have lived long anyway. He was suffering from extreme high blood pressure and believed that he would soon be dead of a haemorage. He was even thinking about suicide.
C-c-c-c-c-c-combo breaker!
Maybe you’re thinking of the Irish author Leon Uris.
Leon Trotsky was Lenin’s co-revolutionary Bolshevik in the Russian Revolution.
Trotsky later went to Mexico where he was hacked to death with an ice pick in 1940 on the orders of Stalin. It took him a day to die.
Its Leon
no u moron its leon look it up in google if u have a brain
lol @ the fact this was submitted by ‘anon’
Boy, Leon wasn’t too easy on the eyes was he?
Yeah, maybe if Trotski was cute, personable and funny. Still, not even remotely a resemblance.
Super triple lame.
Zach will look more like Trotsky once I bury an iceax in his head.
Amen to that! See, someone’s taking some initiative.
Uh, no. Maybe if Zack got his head shrunk, but not right now.
Ugh, you do realize they have writers right? Also, his nose doesn’t look big to me.Something tells me you were just trying to find bullcrap excuses to hate on him.
An amazing coincidence : Trotsky used to imagine he was “Floating Head Communist” . Aaaaaand Lenin used to berate him by calling him girls names like Tatya, Katerina, Khristen, Nadia, Oksana, Olga, Paulina, Svetlana, etc.
The Janitor at Red Square used to play tricks on him, till Leon had him sent to the Gulag.
Yes ….Trotsky ….the Floating Head Communist !!
Molotov invented the co**ktail,
but Trotsky invented the Appletini !!!!
Trotsky was communist and mass murderer – how can you describe him as “author” – it’s disgusting!
Uh, I believe you may have Trotsky confused with Lenin.
Or maybe he just knows how high up the Communist Party Trotsky was…
He had as much blood on his hands as Lenin did.
Communism is wrong because, although claiming to be for the people, nearly eliminates human rights. Communism places no value on the sanctity of life : hence the 60 + million murdered under Stalin, the 30 + million dead in China, the nearly 10 million dead by NAZI’s. (National Socialist German Workers Party) a few million more from Cauecescu (sp?) in Romania, and maybe a million in central America.
Generally, most anywhere Communism (or socialism : Communism lite) goes, massive numbers of people die.
Atheism is a part of the Communist worldview. The State is the ultimate authority, and their leaders act as if their actions have no consequences.
You are confusing generic communism with Stalinism, I think. Stalin killed millions in his push to industrialization.
Notably many English peasants were killed in that country;’s push to industrialization, but it happened over a longer period of time. Stalin was in a big hurry to catch up.
Marx would never have picked Russia as the place for the communicst revolution, because they were econcomically and technologically quite backward at that time. He was looking to Germany. He also favoried human rights- the Communist Manifesto authored by him and Engels complained about how demeaning to huma values the (capitalist) factory system was. And by our standards today, it WAS.
They all were revolting against the tyranical systems in place at that time and you and I would have probably been one their side at least in theory if not actually joining them at the barricades as many others did, in support of democracy and justice.
Well, you’re really letting your colors show here, stevie. By including Nazism under Communism because of their name, you invalidate your whole argument.
And, honestly, what’s the point of the argument. Lenin was a murderer, Trotsky was a murderer, Stalin was a particularly egregious murderer, and so was Hitler. This just in: totalitarianism sucked.
The Cold War is over, dude. Get over it.
Hitler was as bad as Lenin (Ulyanov) or Stalin (Dzugasvilli) or Trotsky (Bronstein) were – communists (Russia and many other countries) and national socialists (Germany) are both on the left side of the political spectrum, both kill people in large numbers, both deny human rights, both utilize slavery (GULAGs in Russia, concentration camps in Germany). This is why communists and fascists are wrong.
Maybe you should read something about history. In Communist Russia you got minimum 25 years in GULAG (that meant practically death sentence) just when you said that Stalin should be killed. On the contrary – people who tried to assasinate tzar Nikolai were after a few years released from prison. Communist oppression was thousand times harder than capitalist.
Just don’t judge things you know nothing about…
Oh man, Stevie and Cormac got so much wrong:
The communist ideology (Marx/Engels) does not include mass killings, the Nazi ideology does. Therefore Stalin, Mao and others in practice perverted an ideology that was really meant to be good for the people, while Hitler was just following his ideology by ordering the holocaust. That makes nazism by far worse than communism. The death tolls by the way will never be exactly known, but 60+ million for Stalin is much too high and 30+ million for Mao is too low.
Socialism is not “communism lite”, in the communist theory socialism is the first step that will be followed by the next step – communism (in Europe socialism now has nothing to do with communism). Fascism is not the same as nazism and Nazis are not on the “left side of the political spectrum”, they used aspects of left and right and btw were responsible for all the deaths in WWII – about 60 million.
25 years in GuLAG was the maximum sentence (apart from the death penalty), and threatening to kill the current political leader is illegal almost everywhere, although Nazis and commies did in fact punish that extremly.
A country named “Communist Russia” never existed, i guess you were talking about the Soviet Union.
But it is true that brutal oppression was (and is) typical for the Nazis and the communists, therefore democracy is clearly the best system that mankind has invented so far.
Well… finally some sense. I guess most of you are americans and therefore believe socalism and communism is the same. I don’t think there’s been any genocide by a socialist governement, and e.g. Sweden which is a country mostly governed by a socialist party, have one of the highest living standards in the world. and quite a small gap between the richest and the poorest. I am no communist, but all the communist regimes strayed from Marx’s manifest, so far no communist rule have had the borguise revolution, which was one of the most important demands for a succesful communism, according to marx. marx communism doen’t include dictators either, which have arisen in all communist states. but we will never know if a true marxist way would be succesful wa, maybe marx way would fail too. well for all of you, I think it would be wise to do some research before you say something when you only have your prejudice as a base. (not claiming I know everything about this matter, but I’ve studied the sociologist marx as a way of my history education, together with MAX WEBER, who had some really interesting ideas, check him out)
You know, it’s just as narrow-minded and unfair to say that Americans believe socialism and communism are the same thing because the Christian Right still tries to utilise the Red Scare. Don’t get all up in arms about prejudice because some people associate socialism with communism if you’re just going to bash an entire country right after.
As a side note, socialism and communism have a great deal going for them in theory. It’s when it comes to actual practising that things get hairy, but mostly on large scales. Nazi Germany was neither socialist nor communist – it was a nationalist government, which is more closely related to what the Republic of China (Taiwan) had during its foundling years. Given that the RoC has since moved on to a more democratic structure, it’s clear that nationalism doesn’t work much better than socialism or communism. However, Taiwan managed not to slaughter people en masse – so can we put to rest the idea that a form of government dictates what its leaders enforce? Hitler and his men were responsible for Nazi Germany, not nationalism, as Stalin was for the things the USSR did, and so on and so forth. Their leaders perverted governments which, in the hands of people perhaps less clever and more compassionate, might have actually worked.
The Nazi theory included, among other atrocities, the annihilation of the jews, that was part of the “racial” element in it. Because of this, the Nazis were no pure nationalists – the german jews were murderd as well.
So this particular form of goverment DOES dictate what its leaders enforce.
Apart from that, I totally agree to what you wrote.
Neither me nor Malin were idolizing Communism, if you look on my last paragraph it should be obvious that Iยดm not full of sympathy for Coummunism. But I do think it helps if people know and consider historic facts. You can hate Coummunism for what it was, but hardly for what it was supposed to be!
An anology, to make my point clear: I think that the Bush administration perverted some of the american ideals by starting an illegal war with a high death toll, by limiting some of the civil liberties the US-society was build upon, by imprisoning people for indefinite time without charges and no access to lawyers and even torturing some of them. BUT that doesnยดt make the american ideals bad! It tells you a lot about Bush, Cheney etc., but not too much about democracy. One of the differences to those who perverted Marxยด ideas: US citizens can get rid of Bush without shedding blood. Democracy win!
And finally, the West wasnยดt “too scared and ignorant to do anything” during those uprises, it was, alas, impossible to do anything more. Did you really forget the fact, that the Soviet Union had a lot of nuclear weapons and a large army? What would have been the right thing to do, when a nuclear warwould have been the consequence of, letยดs say, more offensive measures by the west?
Oh, one last thing: It seems to me, that the comparison between ZB and Trotzky was more about the hair than about their religion. And even if it was about them being jewish that wouldnยดt be racist, because being a jew doesnยดt tell you anything about peoples race.
Arthur_Eld: Yeah, if you judge people and their ideologies by things they say and not things they really do, you can say that nazis and communists are different.
Communist Russia was not a name of country, but was used instead of “Russia ruled by communist government”. And in my country – Czech Republic -is “fascist” and “nazi” used for the same thing so often, than nobody cares about the differences between them.
Here we have a lot of people arguing like you when somebody says that communism is bad – they say, that communist ideology should make the world a better place, but those bad leaders did wrong things. It’s one big bull*hit…
You have to judge things by their real outcome, rather than by the mere words…
BTW – nazis really were on the left side – if you know their ideology, you have to know…

Arthur, let me tell you something:
1) 25 years was not maximum sentence – read Solzhenitsyn (GULAG Archipelag – or whatever is that book named in English)
2) 25 years got teenagers for stealing loaf of bread, or you could get 25 years for comming late to work – really, I’m not kidding
3) threatening to kill the current political leader – if we two will sit in a pub and I’ll say “Bush should be killed”, am I threatening to kill GWB? Or if I’ll try to lit the fire using newspaper with photo of GWB? In Soviet Russia, or USSR or whatever you wish me to call it…
By law, or at least practise, yes, you are threatening thereby to kill GWB. Furthermore, if said in the near vicinity of the FBI, you’re like to get yourself thrown in jail. Lighting a fire using his face may indeed be amusing, but it isn’t threatening to kill him in any way. It’s just being resourceful.
Well, Arthur, I agree with most of what you say, but [I would guess from your post that] you sympathize with the goals of socialism. Me, too, but it doesn’t mean we can morally privilege the douchebags of the left just because we endorse their abstract goals over those of the douchebags of the right. The Nazis had goals, too, that would ostensibly improve the lives of most Germans. I find those goals loathsome, but their actions were no worse than those done in the name of social justice, a la Marx.
Like you, I come back to action as the only real measuring stick. I don’t care if you’re killing me in the name of “the people”, or in the name of “the Volk”. I only care that I’m dead.
Maybe Stalin? Apparently, he murdered more people than Hitler. O_O
Actually he wrote quite a lot. Trotsky certainly wasn’t a mass murderer. Communist, yes, absolutely, but he was a communist because he truly believed in his heart that it was what was best for the people. I’m not at all a communist myself (in fact I listen to Rush Limbaugh, if that gives you any idea of my political views), but I thoroughly admire Trotsky. When Stalin betrayed the revolution and Trotsky became a man without a country he never stopped writing and giving it his all to get it out there that Stalin was a very bad man. The only reason one might call Trotsky a mass murderer is if you’re a pacifist and therefore have a problem with his position of War Commissar of the Red Army during the Russian Civil War, but then you’d have to call all people who are involved in war mass murderers. Whether or not you agree with communism, you must understand that Trotsky is a very brave and very great man.
Oh also, one person said you were confusing Trotsky with Lenin. That person is in turn confusing Lenin with Stalin. Stalin is the bad guy of the Soviet Union.
Another said that National Socialism, or Nazism, is a political view of the far left, when in fact it is on the far right of the political spectrum. Just thought I’d point that out.
More like Zach Braff’s hair looks like Leon Trotsky’s hair. Nevertheless, if Zach Braff got an ice axe lodged in his skull, I’d laugh.
Face it. The guy is a douche bag.
He can’t be a douche bag.
Douche bags are special tools for pussies.
Braff is a pussy for “special” tools.
Uh… are my eyes broken?? They look nothing alike.
of course ur as blind as helen keller
Well, he makes pretty good movies and he’s got frigging superb taste in women, so I’m willing to give him a pass on the annoying things about him.
Trotsky got Ice-picked!
i think?
Trotsky looks like Beavis and Butthead) 2 in 1
Not much of a resemblance, but they both deserve an ice pick in their heads.
I think the author you are thinking of is Leo Tolstoy. Anyway, Zach looks more like Anne Hathaway’s ex BF, that Italialn dude.
i (*heart*) Leon Trotsky, he was a brilliant man, and he argued for what he believed… In my eyes he was the second smartest man in the world. He was brave for doing what he did. Thats whats wrong with america, all these fatasses sitting around judging people when they obviously didnt know him !!! Just remember… revenge is bittersweet !!!
peace
I know! It makes me sad to hear people insulting him when they clearly don’t know what they’re talking about! I don’t understand why people can’t understand that he was a very brave and admirable man. He fought hard for what he believed and he believed it because he thought it was the best thing for the people. What’s wrong with that? People need to open their minds a bit more. I mean, I personally don’t think he was right in his views because I fall somewhere to the right on the political spectrum, but even I can see his greatness. I think if communism were to ever work it would have worked with Trotsky in charge (until, of course, the time came where no one was in charge). Too bad that bastard Stalin came to power.
YeSsSHHHHHH !!!! hahahhaha…. your like coolieo
^________________^
oh and B.T.W…. you people dont think that they look alike because…
1. they arent at the same angle
2. zach is an actor so he OBVIOUSLY has to be the hottest thing alive.
3. W.T.F… they look alike !!! looking alike doest mean TWIN, you retards out there… they have similar facial features (THATS what makes them look alike)
and 4th.
GO GET A LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o_O?
Um, this is an epic fail, because that is a picture of Lev Davidovich Bronstein , in 1897 rofl…..
Same person: the epic fail is yours.
Nope, just the hair.
Actually, Zach looks a lot like actor Kyle Switzer:
http://myr24.bloxode.com/images/113846239688.jpg
O_o;
It’s not a good look alike in my opinion. It’s just that the hair sort of goes backwards, if you know what I mean. Nothing in the face is similar.
