It’s called a swastika.
Not to be confused with schvanstuka, which is something different. = )
Most definitely…..
The swastika is an old Celtic symbol that has roots in ancient Irish culture.
The symbol is not necessarily Nazi related, unless its used as such.
Another thing, this particular building was built in 1902, long before the Nazis started using the swastika as a symbol for their organization.
Dunno about Celtic, but the Nazi swastika is a mirror-image of a Buddhist symbol, itself considered lucky. You’ll find it in random places in southeast asia – kinda permeated the cultures.
The Swastika is a universal symbol (usually for peace) that has been found in Meso-American, Celtic, , Aryan (as in the originals that populated India, not the Nazi’s), and Asia..
It also has its place in Norse-based paganism in pre-christianized Anglo-Saxan England., representing mjolnir as it flies through the air.
Swastikas can be found nearly everywhere, sheesh…
It’s also the symbol of a regime that killed millions of jews, blacks, and various other minorities… Guess which meaning the survivors care most about.
the one where I’m dry humping your face??¿¿
Blacks were actually no target of the nazis – to few of them lived in Germany at that time.
This whole discussion about whether or not the swastika can be acceptable today reminds me of several longlasting discussions in Germany: Is it ok to love our country? Can we be proud (again)? What´s with the national symbols, the military, the foreign policy etc. So to those discussing the swastika: this is what it feels like to be german
Thank you!!!!
If the survivors care more about the Nazi swastika, then they’re doing nothing more than perverting even more the original meaning of the symbol.
Of course, I’m only talking about the symbol and its meanings, not about what purpose it served, or about the people that wear it.
Well the Nazi swastika is actually a reverse/slanted peace sign meaning its opposite or war… its supposed to be like this:- http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/63/HinduSwastika.svg/142px-HinduSwastika.svg.png right side up!
It’s also a symbol debated over by douchebags on a stupid website.
Yes, because only douchebags can discuss symbolism, and its roots throughout history. Way to fail, april.
However, discussing this over a fun site / blog… fail.
But, the Buddhist symbol is in a square-ish shape. The swastika is diamond-like
I think the buddhist symbol is on a different angle.
you can also find it on the staircases of the Hibbing Minnesota school
Hey Stop trying to drag us into it just because our economy is collapsing.
it was a hindu symbol for millennia as well.
Actually, it’s a very old Hindu symbol. Hitler stole a lot from the Indian culture (not to be confused with Native American, who also used the swastika.) As a matter of fact, the term Aryan originally (and still is) the term for the people that invaded the Indus Valley civilization.
Congratz, ya’ll can read wikipedia
Not celtic at all
Its originated in ancient India, later used by the Roman Empire, and a few thousand years later, Nazi Germany.
You can actually find the swastika on old native american artifacts as well… how that happened I have no idea, but it’s supposed to be a representation of some tribes’ sun god
In Reverse
The LA Times article says it was built in the late 60s, long after the Nazis started using the swastika as a symbol for their organization.
your right
actually it roots from ancient hindus on of the first civilizations older than the irish one so eat my pinacle
Well how do u know that?
This is because German POW’s built this base during WWII, and it was like the middle finger to the US. At least thats the urban legend around the Navy stationed in San Diego.
the exact address if you wish to write your Congress member on changing the layout of this particular building is 3446-3494 Bougainville Rd
San Diego, CA 92155. I live nearby in a near by community known as Chula Vista, CA and once worked at the Hotel Del Coronado which is less than half a mile from this building. This building is located inside the Amphibious base that stations Navy Seals and Marines. They do training across the way/
Actually, Landslideclothing, if you input that address into Google maps, it displays a view of a residential area near Navy Housing. It is not the address of the barracks (or Government Building) which is shown on this site.
Yeah, you’d think someone would look into it before they post it.
This site doesn’t require historical accuracy. It just shows seperate things that look alike.
It’s also called ‘Photoshop’
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=san+diego+kwajalein+rd+%26+bougainville+rd&sll=32.676441,-117.157919&sspn=0.003355,0.004662&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr
3446-3494 Bougainville Rd
San Diego, CA 92155 is the exact address.
It’s also called, ‘Google’ you twit.
lol can i failblog this?
I think somebody needs to.
Somebody already did, a LONG time ago
I thiink I need to gently hump your butts…
It’s not photoshopped…I live in San Diego and it’s was a real building- I’m pretty sure it’s either been torn down or remodeled.
No it still exists exactly as built
no no the building exists conspiracy theorists love it.
You know, I’m sure some people who post on these boards even try to make themselves look cool and in-the-know by telling people they meet that real-life objects are photoshopped.
“Wow, look at how big the moon is tonight”
“Photoshopped”
hahahahahah! win.
What, you mean like the XKCD comic mentioned over two years ago: http://xkcd.com/331/ ?
3446-3494 Bougainville Rd
San Diego, CA 92155. It’s a real building that exists in my hometown.
It is not called Photoshop, it is called old.
And it’s beeen on here before
Not Photoshop. It’s at the southeast corner of the Naval base in Coronado, CA… check it in Google Maps or Google Earth. The 2 buildings to the west of it look like icons used to identify bombers on some older tactical displays and classic tactical maps.
Isn’t it funny how that bit is always left out
see link for image of all three buildings
This would be mildly funny if a) the person knew the building’s name and b) new the symbol’s name
Actually, no, it wouldn’t.
It’s uh… “b)KNEW the symbol’s name,” by the way…
I heard they remodeled the building after getting complaints.
Yeah, they’re re-contsructing it now.
In my opinion, big waste of government money.
The swastika was a stolen icon. It is a symbol of good luck in India. It’s basically a 4 leaf clover for Hindu’s.
silly considering the original symbology of the symbol… people can be really ignorant.
when its backwards, its a positive thing. funny how events can change the meaning of a symbol. what about people who just think rainbows are cool? nows they get associated with homosexuality. powerful stuff.
Nothing wrong with being associated with the gay community. They’re awesome!
No, Their FABULOUS!!!
hahaha!
And TOWTALLY AWESOOOOOME!!!
It interesting that according to the bible the rainbow is a symbol of Gods love and mercy, and became a symbol of homosexuality.
Actually, I’d rather like to be able to wear a rainbow without everyone assuming I’m a dyke.
Regardless, comments like this will make everyone assume you’re an asshole.
Actually, it doesn’t matter which way it’s facing, when it’s being used as a religious symbol. The difference between the symbol used in Hinduism and the symbol used by the Nazis is the fact that it’s tilted by 45 degrees.
… There are buildings in Germany in the shape of swastikas
Google map pls!
I dont’t think so: everything which barely reminded of the nazi ideology was either destroy or at least they carved out the hakenkreuze.
All buildings which were valuable to the nazi and weren’t destroyed during the war were blown up (like the Reichskanzlei).
There were even a lot of tree chopped down in several forests in germany because there were planted conifers among a forest of broad-leaved trees in the shape of that symbol (what could only be seen in winter times)
On the other side… in many German clothe stores they have those racks which look like swastikas if you look at them from above. Sure the form is very handy, because you can turn them around with one hand, but well… Oh and the tiles on my kitchen floor form that pattern, too.
random trivia: the nazis never called this symbol the “swastika”. “swastika” is sanskrit for the symbol in it’s non-nazi-use form. the germans called it “hakenkreuz” (hook-cross). the germans would never call the most prominent third reich symbol by the sanskrit name, ever.
Thanks for the nice info!
more random trivia: If you are spelling the sanskrit symbol in Romanized letters, it’s spelled “swastik” without an “a” at the end (the soft “a” is still pronounced, though). Go ahead, Google-image “swastika” and “swastik.” This is my husband’s main religious symbol… huge pain going through airport security… *sigh*
oooh cavity-search fail. sorry, hon
This was the most informative comment so far! A lot of people know that “a swastika” used to mean some thing posative before the nazis utalized the same basic shape… but most people don’t know all the niffty details you just shaired with us.
Thanks for the info. ^^
the swastika is an international symbol for peace and tranquility that has been used for over 11,000 years. it has been found in art from china, india, greece, america and africa dating back to the neolithic period. the 20 years that hitler used it is a tiny bleep in time and its sad that its symbolism has been tarnished by it. i do, however, find it ironic that a navy base is shaped like a symbol of peace.
No matter how you identify with this symbol, the Navy has some real brass balls to design in its likeness…
In case you didn’t read above, this was built in 1902. So whatever their intent may have been, it wasn’t to be in the likeness of a Nazi symbol.
The irony comment above was great, however.
The ‘manji’, what people call the ‘backward swastika’, is a holy symbol in Asia (maps are still marked with it to indicate locations of temples) – it was around before the swastika. It shows up in a lot of Japanese manga and anime, but generally has to be modified for export to the U.S. – for example, Portgas D. Ace of One Piece has, in the original manga, a tattoo of his pirate mark on his back – it’s a skull superimposed over a manji. In the anime version, anticipating world exports of the show, the animators actually redesigned the manji into crossed bones, sidestepping the issue entirely. The English version of the manga, however, leaves the manji in, with an explanation of why and how the manji is different from the swastika.
Not that this has anything to do with the building, which was built in stages (as I understand it) and was never designed to look the way it does.
I should have said, “maps in Japan are still marked with it to indicate locations of temples”. Sorry about that!
Why so? they with-hold the peace. When has our nation ever been attacked on our soil by an opposing nation that has clearly declared war on our country since the Revolutionary War? (Coward Radical Muslims need not be mentioned, that’s cheap-shotting).
**When has our nation ever been attacked on our soil by an opposing nation that has clearly declared war on our country since the Revolutionary War?**
war of 1812, spanish-american war, pearl harbour (wwii)
just some food for thought
It’s called a swastika, and it’s a sacred symbol. You see it all over India (swastika is a Sanskrit word).
Hitler used it and perverted its meaning.
I highly doubt, though, that any architect would design a building like that. One look at the floor plan, and the developer would nix it.
Haha– you’d think that, but we have a building at my university that is supposed to be shaped like a double helix and it IS a pain to get around in.
Actually, the developer noticed the similarity, but didn’t remodel it because, at the time, he figured no one would ever see it from air. Little did he know about the era of satellites that was soon to follow…
A swastik(a) is a Vedic symbol for peace and tranquility… Hitler inverted it and used it to more or less replace the Iron Cross as a rallying symbol for Germans/Aryans in the late 20s, 30s and 40s. It’s called irony… kinda like being the leader of the German National Socialist party and hating socialists… Hitler was good at that kind of thing…
Accualy Hitler didn’t have to invert it, the Romans had built Temples marked with the samy symbol accross Europe, and the borrowed it from the Anchent Greek, the inverted version is mostly used in the Far East but the one he used was ment by the romans to mean Purity, (I’ve seen in in the tiled floor of a Roman Bathhouse in Berlin) and the Eastern version ment Peace and Tranquility. The natzi’s like many Europeans at the time (and Since) thought that Purity ment keeping ones Bloodlines Clean and free from the Taint of other Races ( a pretty Silly concept considering how inter mixed european blood is anyway) and thats why they adopted that symbol along with a lot of other Roman Symbolisim. this is why sometimes when you see Reinactments of Roman culture you get a creepy Natzi Vibe off it, Hitler plundered Roman Culture and Archetecture to make his “Third Riech” seem Traditional.
Actually, Hitler turned it 45 degrees, not inverted it. He also stole the term Aryan from India’s history.
am i really the only one that found this hysterical? geez you people need to loosen up a bit!
Yes you are the only one. That’s a perfectly good way to build densely and get good light in large parts of the building. The Nazis ruined it. Which is too bad and not funny.
OMG. this is no coinsidence. Nazis built this place. This is bad, this is bad, this is bad…
Thank you, Its a building that looks like a symbol, its funny, you guys dont need to get all History Major on us
Umm, no, the U.S. Government built this building on the Coronado Naval Base in San Diego. Facts are hot.
Sarcasm detection fail.
… anyway … i think it’s a look-a-alike!
This may mean something else, but dont you think it would be civil to change it after what happened?
Nooooo?
If everything worked your way, then we would have to denounce Catholicism as a religion because of the protestant slaughters that took place in the dark ages and what not.
And we would have to discontinue making guns because of all the people they’ve killed over the years.
And we’d have to close down all those pretty historical plantations in the south because they had (HAD) slaves on them.
Point:
I go with what The Cake says:
“That’s a perfectly good way to build densely and get good light in large parts of the building.”
Keep it up. As in the building.
1) Denounce Catholicism – I’m cool with that, what with the no condoms/abortions/birth control/women in the pulpit
2) Discontinue making guns – Cool with that one, too. If no one makes ‘em, no oen can use ‘em.
3) Close the Plantations – Meh…whatever.
Wow. Who knew such a lame TLL would engender such a plethora of idiotic comments? Let’s hope we get 3 or 4 more “it’s called a swastika” and “history of swastika” responses. Those are super funny.
LOL
if only people knew the real meaning of the swastika (before hitler used it)
It actually has a really good meaning to it. google the origin of swastika. You’ll know.
This symbol will lose it’s “horibble” meaning if people don’t think of it that way.
Please refer to the 12030652002164 above.
* comments above.
A quick and somewhat humorous history lesson:
During World War II we Americans took German prisoners of war and interred them in various places around the U.S. including the San Diego area. Some of those prisoners of war were officers with formal educations as engineers, and their jailors put them to work designing and building new buildings on the Navy base.
The Germans, wanting a little revenge against their captors, designed these buildings and submitted the blue-prints separately so that the overall design was not apparent and the buildings were build in stages.
If you look just to the SouthWest of the swastika shaped building, you will see another two buildings that are shaped like the German “Iron Eagle,” with each building made of two separate structures.
really?! because this building was built in 1902. those captured germans must have had a time machine too!
It’s a shame they’re going to waste $600,000 trying to mask the shape of the building. So what if it looks like a swastika from a satellite photo (which is the only place it can even be noticed as having that shape)? It’s merely a building that serves a purpose and its shape is irrelevant. The damn crybabies need to get over it. What the hell makes them think they have the right not to be offended anyway? Someone call a whaaaaambulance!
It doesn’t matter anymore that it was a symbol of peace an tranquility before the Nazis claimed it. It has been used up. You don’t just go around sporting it and assuming that just because the Nazis used it at one point it still means “peace”. It doesn’t.
Somehow, I both thought the look-a-like was funny *and* enjoyed the historical information. Just because people post about the history of the swastika doesn’t mean they think the entry is offensive.
Also, I’m pretty sure that the shape that the buildings form would not only be evident from a satellite, but by a simple grounds map or blueprint of the base.
The original swastika is a sign of good luck and fortune that was used in the Roman Empire, Chinese dynasties, Turkey, Greece, etc.
This however was not accident. They knew it would look like that. Architecture is functional but this is more than incidental obviously.
I lived in these barracks when i was in the Navy. No one even notice the shape that i knew of. That building is four diffrents barracks for four diffrent squadrons. So they built four L shapes that connect in the middle office. If i remember correctly the only thing that is connecting it to the middle part is a roof. Its not one big building, its 5 smaller ones.
For the guy who suggested that these buildings were built to get back at America during WW2, i am going to guess you have never seen these buildings. The barracks are one of the newest on the base. They weren’t even around for Vietnam let alone WW2.
I’ve actually written several reports on the matter, and the truth is the swastika pops up everywhere. Some theories say it naturally evolves in any basketweaving society. Take a look at basketweave sometime, and you can actually trace out a swastika.
When the Nazis started out, they looked for a symbol that represented the Aryan race. Again, theory says the Aryan race actually originated out of India, so Hitler took a common Indian symbol and played with it a bit.
The Buddhists used to use a right facing swastika, but actually flipped it to avoid Nazi references. It’s mostly used today by Eastern religions, such as Buddhism and Hinduism. But it’s been found as far back as neolithic times, and has been used in synagogues, churches, mosques, Greek temples, Roman architecture, early aviation, Chinese temples, and I’ve actually found it on the Gospel book at a nearby Catholic church.
It’s everywhere.
Funny story: In the early sixties the ‘inverted’ version was a widely used pattern in tiles. I remember that the tiles above the stove in the kitchen was comprised of several of these ‘backward Ls’ that were laid in a pattern across the wall/stove. The points were sharper, but I remember it clearly.
the Swastika is and indian symbol that was stolen and perverted by the Nazi party in their explorations of india in search of ‘vril’, for those of you that dont know, almost all of the Nazi heads of state were members of a secret club called the ‘vril society’, which originates from a science fiction novel called “the coming race”, they went to Inda in search of ‘vril’, which was believed to be in an uderground city under the himalayan mountains. If you read up on it, you will find that they spent more national funds looking for ‘vril’ than the americans did researching the atomic bomb.
I REALLY think MORE people should point out the origin of the swastika.
Yes, please, ’cause my head has yet to EXPLODE.
this should be changed to “building totally looks like it’s about to spark a neverending debate about the evolution of symbols”
i suppose that title was too lengthy though.
it’s a swastika
the building was designed this way as 4 L shaped buildings as a defensive measure so that no matter what part of the building you were in someone could be seen on either side. kind of a someone always has your back type deal i suppose. the fact that it resembles a swastika is completely coincidence.
Tings I lernt tuday.
1. The swastika didn’t exist before the Nazi’s tried to take over the world.
2. German POWs have been designing and building buildings for the Navy since 1902.
3. The people who want others to know how smart they are don’t read any of the comments posted before their comment.
You can find old women in Bosnia (christians faith mostly catholic) with tattoo of this symbol. Parents tattoo their baby daughter to keep them of witchcraft.
I’m very surprsed that the Manji Level of The Legend of Zelda has yet to be brought up. Come on, no one remembers the third castle?
http://www.nesmaps.com/maps/Zelda/ZeldaLevel3Q1.html
good one! Zelda, wow. The memories. Very early computer years.
Also, it provides for maximum ventilation – each of the smaller buildings in the complex have many, many windows that can presumably be opened to ventilate and cool.
I would guess that this complex was built before the advent of air conditioning.
OMG! I live among idiots
U-N-C-A-N-N-Y
aww come on people i dont know how its in english but when translating direcly its firecross symbol of power and fire what was on lielvardes belt (a symbol of latvian national identity) but becouse of hitler later on there were even made some without it
but i like it when puppies are cute…………
This totally looks like a conspiracy.
Hello… i am german… and after reading all that i really feel like i have to appologize to the world for causing such big trouble by having a history. I am also appologizing that our history seems to be a magnet for full time morons which keep phantasting random conspiracy crap as a life task.
“I didn’t do it”, absolutely no need to apologize. As your name says, you had nothing to do with what happened back then. Let’s blame the real villains, the ones that actually DID do it.
Along that same line of thought, I think we all now know that the swastika/manji was once an honorable symbol the world over, but has been tarnished in the western world by the terrible events of World War 2. Well, I say LET’S TAKE IT BACK!!! Seriously, if we could re-align people’s thinking so that it once again was a positive symbol, A: East-West relations would be improved, as we would no longer be trashing their holy religious emblems by calling them hate symbols (imagine how you would feel if a sacred sign of your religion or other object you hold dear was called hateful). B: It would avoid embarassing faux-pas’es like this building and other incidents. And most importantly C: It would take away from the nazis (both neo- and original version) a very powerful tool that they use to inflict fear and terror into people even today. The nazis used many symbols in their campaign of terror, and all have returned to benevolent use except this one. Let’s redeem it so that Hitler can stop ruling us from the grave!!!
Lastly, my sincere apologies to those of Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, and other religions who use this as a holy symbol. What we are doing is wrong, but we are only people, who have been terribly wounded in the past by a group who scandalously misued your symbol. Please forgive us, and have patience as time heals our wounds, and we once again can share this once-common sign in friendship and peace.
There’s no need to repeat the swastika’s history for the thousandth time or the fact that Hitler perverted its meaning, or that this building was built BEFORE WWII so the architect obviously couldn’t be a Nazi. People, please. Read the comments above you.
I didn’t see anything specific on the meaning of the swastika as a religious symbol other than the “peace” bit, which is a wee bit off. So I’ll elaborate on that.
Swastika is a symbol of “well-being.” It describes the path to achieving happiness. Its four “L”s mean artha (wealth), kama (material desires), dharma (righteousness), and moksa (salvation). The bottom flat line at the bottom (if viewed as it is supposed to be viewed, not tilted) is artha, the top flat is kama, the right vertical is dharma, and the left vertical is moksa. It essentially means that you can coast along through life with wealth and material desires, but the only way to rise up and achieve spiritual happiness is by righteousness, leading to salvation.
And no, I didn’t wikipedia this. I’m taking a college class on Hinduism.
Then why are some of the biggest Swastikas tilted on the outer walls of of the Hindu temple at Lord Krishna’s birthplace in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh?
I saw them just last month but I didn’t have a camera at that moment….
In London you can get excellent and very decorative brass Swastikas in the giftshop at the Swami Narayan Temple in Neasden. They also come as keyrings.
LMAO
oh my god,, u people need to lighten up!
its a freekin symbol!
who wants to come to my place and have a big group cry about how sad this picture makes us
LOL!! Jenny yours was the best post in this whole stupid thread.
EPIL CONVERSATION FAIL
EPIC*
^ irony.
hmmm. what a coinkeedink
Hey guys, look up “Naval Amphibious Base Coronado” on Wikipedia. According to it (and some actual news articles I found), this building was NOT built in 1902 or during World War II; it was built between 1967-70 by architect John Mock. So no Nazi POW conspiracy, sorry.
i used to live on NAB Coronado….lol i never noticed it was the shape of that
It’s also so that bombers flying overhead know it’s a hospital or other non- combat building and, theoretically, the bombers won’t destroy it.
I completely agree with the many people above me. the swastika originates from the ancient Celtics. Hitler obtained a Celtic artifact which led him into thinking he could take over the world as long as he was in possession of it. He adopted this symbol from the celtics and now is known as a symbol of satan and evil due to this murderous person. it was originally a religious symbol used in Celtic religions. the object hitler obtained was a spear just in case your wondering.
oh yeah qwerty, wikipedia is a giant conspiracy that was made by nerds (like me) so never, ever trust it.
This building was designed by the architect as a memorial to WWII. If you look on Google maps, other buildings on the base nearby and shaped like airplanes, and to the east of the swastika building, I believe, is a field filled with what look like shell craters. It was the designer’s way of symbolizing the US beating Nazi Germany, and yes, I do know this all for a fact.
O.M.F.G I can’t belive u don’tknow wat a swastika. You’re so retarded you make me wanna puke my balls out throgh my mouth.
HEIL SATAN
HEIL HITLER
Swastika… yes
much people are complete retarded….
by the way…. HEIL HITLER
look at Geert Wilders from Holland…
A Rising Power….
just watch and see
and if your not a foreigner…
YOU WILL SURVIVE…
i get headaches looking at these comments
WITH THE >>>B.E.A.N.B.A.G.S<<<
and NO this DO NOT make any sense
that sucks on their part
Its a building, it looks like a natzi symobol, and weve heard enough information about it do u have to get all scientific on us? I know its good for our education and all but the same facts are stated over, and over, and over again. Its really ticking me off with all the similar info being said twice.
mmmm
lol for some reason i love to draw swastiks lol
that is irony to the extreme!!!!!!
That building is in Naval Amphibious Base Coronado in San diego,USA.It indeed looks like swastika search in google images. They will be hiding the building to make it look less like swastika from above by camouflaging and changing the areas like rooftops and ground.
indeed is the “nazi swastika” is gammed cross-dont know if i translated well, in spanish is “cruz gamada”
and in the indian culture it represents profit, richness and good luck
I Hate Nazis !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL wtf are you guys talking about??
uber majority nerds or what??
are y’all failblog EXPERTS or just random politician??
on youtube there would be WAY different comments than here..
LOL,
does anybody know what arguing on the internet and running in the special olympics has in common??
Whether you win or lose, youre still retarded.
The swastika is an ancient religious symbol of luck and prosperity with a remarkably diverse history. Its name comes from the Sanskrit “svasti,” meaning well-being. It dates back over 3,000 years, and has adorned Indian textiles, Buddhist temples, Native American clothing, and coins from the ancient Greek city of Troy.
The ubiquity of the swastika before its appropriation by the Nazis seems jarring today. At the turn of the century, it was used by Coca Cola and the Boy Scouts. During World War I, it could be found on the patches of the American 45th Air Division.
By the time Hitler chose the swastika as the symbol of the Nazi Party in 1935, it was a common symbol that had been already seen in various Germanic and nationalistic contexts. In terms of propaganda, it was a textbook example of appropriating a well-known brand. Many Native American tribes renounced the symbol after it became associated with Hitler.
The swastika’s exact origins are difficult to determine. It has been described as a Greek cross with its arms bent at right angles. Others note its symbolism of the four cardinal directions. It’s a universal geometric form that symbolizes celestial and terrestrial elements
If you look at the ancient pictures you will notice that the 90% angles turned to the left. Hitler flipped this and turned the 90% angles to the right. So if you would like to refer to the ancient meanings of the swastika, then you would have to refer to the proper design of the swastika otherwise you are patronizing the sign of the Nazi Party. Justmy2cents.
And yes, Hitler also tilted it 45% too
What’s the building called? I want to see for myself.
It’s not a Nazi symbol it’s a BUDDHIST CROSS!!!!11111!!!!1
Dudes its a lookalike, there doesnt need to be any logic behind it…… Who cares when the building was built or what its called, it looks like the swastika..thats all it is…a look alike…..
Nerds
BoooooooooB
