Except the Evil Queen seems to have a little life behind her eyes. Janice looks dead. And plastic.

After reading Neil Gaiman’s “Snow, Glass, Apples”… I disagree. Awesome story… and it puts a whole new spin on the ‘evil’-thing.
Neil Gaiman makes me happy.
So does Tanith Lee’s “Red as Blood.” (She also retold Cinderella in the style of Edgar Allen Poe.)
You know… the only reason I’m not running to the bookstore right now is because it’s 10.44pm here. I haven’t read anything by Tanith Lee in AGES. *feels ashamed*
These are in her short story collection RED AS BLOOD: TALES OF THE SISTERS GRIMMER. She re-tells several old fairy tales. For example, in her version of Red Riding Hood, the grandmother turns out to be a werewolf.
She doesn’t do Hansel & Gretel; I’m not sure if we should be glad or sorry.
I love tales like that… except Wicked.

A model friend of mine had an interview (“go-see”) with Janice and she attests that Janice REALLY IS as bad as she seems. Absolutely merciless, not a shred of “nice” about her.

Janice is the reason I can’t watch next top model anymore. She’s just NASTY with a capital bitc*. The only worse than a has been is a never was that takes it out on people with a decent shot at happiness.
