Actually, Pixar’s intention was never to copy off of Short Circuit, ET, or whatever else people think they copied off of, or how you put it made a ripoff of. All of Pixar’s movie are made up on their own, things just got more timely, the director never really realized when making the movie how people would react to that. And apparently most didn’t react in a very positive way.

I’ve seen short circuit too, and I’m not that old. But, even so, it doesn’t matter what it was based off of, they are both great movies in their own rights.
