You know, I’m not a professional artist. Heck, I’m barely good enough to draw mustaches on models in womens’ magazines, and yet I can still draw two different faces if I try. Lazy animator is lazy.
It’s actually a money saving device. You want to see lazy, check out disney sometime, they recycle *everything*
Old disney films are actually based on the people they’re animating, which is why the characters look alike. They have the same voice actor as well.
Do you have any idea how much work went into those animations back in the day?

RR grew so disillusioned by his empty life of conspicuous consumption that he hung himself with a rope made from woven-together $100 bills.
His spirit came back as Casper to atone for all the suffering his insatiable quest for wealth created.

That is so bizarre.
I haven’t watched The Simpsons in over a decade and that is almost exactly what I said. The show stopped being funny about 1997.

Simpsons jumped the shark after ‘The Principal and the Pauper’ and had scattered average/tolerable episodes, but meh…I’ve learned to tolerate it. It’s dying a slow, bleeding death.

If you look at Peppermint Patty closely you will realize that she is Charlie Brown with hair (and a sex change operation.)

Sara, Jeremy’s girlfriend in Zits, is similarly drawn to Jeremy and has an opposite personality than Jeremy.

re: Sara & Jeremy – never noticed it before but you’re so right! Must be a deliberate choice by the artist. Is it easier to use the same ‘template’ for both characters? Or is it because they will turn out to be ’soulmates’?
