What should we compare an idiot with? If you bothered to do even the most basic check of your facts, you’d know that membership of the Hitler Jugend was mandatory for German males who were teenagers, but too young to be conscripted into the military during WW2.
Plenty of others risked their lives to defy this evil regime. I’d have thought that someone who thinks himself the moral leader of the planet and appointed by God, no less, would have been made of stronger stuff. Pathetic, really.
We, the birds, are outraged that such a comparison would be made! This picture is racist, misleading, and has the potential to damage Birds as a whole! We must kindly ask that this photograph be taken down and promptly incinerated. For someone to even think we may be catholic is appalling…though those little crackers you give away at services are delicious.

I like him, even if he DID take the same name as my cat.

I’m Catholic and do like the Pope (though not as well as John Paul II) but I tend not to comment anymore because there’s just too much misinformation about the religion to counter. People WANT to believe the misinformation so they disregard any truth that doesn’t fit with their opinion.
I don’t have amy more of a problem with Roman Catholicism (other Catholic churches are available) than with any other form of organised religion.
Same sort of thing happening with LDS… Or rather anything religious or not nowadays. Anyway, I feelz your pain.
