First
Second?
Both an homage to http://www.oldheaven.com/eWebEditor/UploadFile/2008-8/20080825181410111.jpg
I totally beat you to that by two days. See below. Seriously, doesn’t anybody read posts? I think 18 people had to play the Paolo Nutini card!
Listen ass-hat, no one cares. You clearly just googled the album covers and then copied what someone else said about them – it was just luck you were first to point it out on this site.
And, yes people do read posts, so we’ve seen you post the same thing 5 times now. Anyone that thought you were cool after you first pointed that out now thinks you’re a royal douchebag.
I bet that was totally not on purpose!
“Let’s go white, yellow, orange, red instead of red, orange, yellow, white.”
“Woah! You blow my mind sometimes, dude!”
Black Joe Lewis’s album came out 2009, Brimstone Howl was 2007. Let’s make sure we know who was creative and who was a plagiarist.
It WAS in the right order…
“Black Joe Lewis Album cover Totally Looks Like Brimstone Howl Album cover”
I think Bio knows that, it was KC who had it the other way around (if it matters).
i don’t think they even design their own covers. so the fail goes to the album artist
Yup, my bad.
Nothing like bands with NO ORIGINALITY… album cover or otherwise…
If you ever actually listened to this band, you would realize how foolish that comment is…
Is it a … (dare I say) … homage??
Obviously not. One of them is in a jacket.
Sorry, but you don’t do a homage to an album that is less than 2 years old. If one of the albums was 20 years old I’d agree with you, but in this case it’s either laziness or plagiarism.
Or, each is a hommage to yet a third album of which you may be unaware. Like, maybe something done by blues legend Lightnin’ Hopkins.
I totally beat you to that by two days. See below. Doesn’t anybody read the posts before becoming Commander Redundant?
Also totally looks like Paolo Nutini’s These Streets album
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51AWee3nFuL._SL500_AA240_.jpg
According to Amazon.com, Paolo Nutini’s These Streets album’s original release date is September 5, 2006.
So, what we have:
* Paolo Nutini’s These Streets album – 2006
* Black Joe Lewis’s album – 2009
* Brimstone Howl album – 2007
Here be the answer to your riddle folks. Released in the late 50’s I do believe.
http://www.oldheaven.com/eWebEditor/UploadFile/2008-8/20080825181410111.jpg
So basically nobody is original since 1950. LOL
wii haz anudder redundint!
Neil. are you seriously going to keep pointing out the fact that you were the “first” to point out the original source of the homage? It’s not necessary. Douchebag.
Redundant, like, say, constantly repeating the fact that you are oh so wise and special because you were the first, third, and four hundredth person to point out the source of the album art? How meta.
totally what I thought of right when I saw this!!
the more i visit totally looks like the more i wonder how these people get away with plagiarizing/copyright.
i didn’t put three sentences in quotations in a college paper (simple mistake, btw) and i failed the entire course.
not to mention it was the final week of the class.
I agree. All the plagiarism people find here, it boggles the mind.
Then again, I’ve had other students out and out copy my work in class, and have my professors think nothing of it. Yet if I was a writer, it would be an entirely different story. weird.
If this should ever happen again, tell the professor that it isn’t plagiarism…just an obvious homage.
Another case of nerdy white kids plagiarizing talented black folks… Nothing to see here. Just laugh at the pathetic attempt to be hip and soulful as you pass the geeky white nerd.
Actually, the Brimstone Howl album came out first…
Paolo Nutini were first.
wow, racist much?
you’ve probably never even heard of ANY of these artists until this TLL.
Actually, Lightnin’ Hopkins was first.
I totally beat you to that. See below. Doesn’t anybody read the posts before becoming Commander Redundant?
you’ve posted this three times now – who is the one being commander redundant?
hahaha I guess he REALLY wants the credit for this one. Hopkins is that you?
I totally beat you to that. See below. Doesn’t anybody read the posts before becoming Commander Redundant?

Is this “Again” guy the same guy that said doing hard drugs is better than playing a video game?
Also, good job being both racist and wrong.
All of you are wrong. The Black Joe Louis EP was originally released in 2007 on CD on his own label and then re-released in 2009 on vinyl on the Lost Highway label (source: AMG). Both are homages to a Lightnin’ Hopkins LP from 1959. Coincidental that they both had the same idea. Go to allmusic.com and look it up. Then stamp FAIL on this totally-looks-like and put it on failblog. Do your research first. And look up homage in the dictionary!
er, Black Joe LEWIS. Damn boxer confusing me.
He’s right:

LOL both of those look like this album cover ^
Stock Photography. It’s the same picture! Duh.
You’re totally right.
Semi-related, I really love that Black Joe Lewis album.
I played the vinyl copy on my college radio station once and totally f-bombed the world like 5 times lol
and the paolo nutrini’s “these streets” album.
an unknown band’s plagiarized album cover totally looks like another unknown band’s plagiarized album cover, which totally looks like another unknown band’s plagiarized album cover.
It doesn’t get much more pathetic than this.
Can we just remember the very first word on this site – “funny”? These pictures of “homages” or “plagiarisms” which are clearly intentional may be clever or show off a person’s esoteric tastes in music or books, but they aren’t in the slightest way funny.
Rant over, move along, nuthin’ to see here…
I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on the Paulo Nutini album as well. I had forgotten about it. I didn’t know about the original from the 50’s. That makes sense.
I wasn’t trying to show off my “esoteric tastes in music.” I thought that Black Joe Lewis had ripped off Brimstone Howl and gotten away with it. Therefore, it’s funny (to me).
Right on. See the “this monument totally looks like this sewing machine” for a proper example.
holy shit… i grew up with brimstone howl…
There is a THIRD album cover just like this. Paolo NUTINI
Hey, if you don’t have a band, you duplicate yourself. No one will notice for a long, looong time.
