FIRST !
God you’re all idiots. You’re a girl, so I can honestly say, you’re a dumb bitch. Good day to you.
Well, duh, the animated version of something typically looks like what it’s intended to represent. South Park characters TLL people, too (surprise!!).
Exactly, goddang intentionals making the page…
Also TTL General Grievous’s vehicle from Star Wars.
I’m glad someone else noticed that.
Here’s a pic of his wheel bike:

Except for the part of the South Park vehicle that goes up your butt.
Well, we CAN’T see if there’s anything up the butt of the guy on the round bike. I’m just sayin’.
I’m sure there is.
They probably work exactly the same way…
I’ve seen this round bike before, I believe the guy lives in Walled Lake, Michigan…he was showing it off at a gas station one day. When I saw it on South Park I had wondered if they stole the idea from that guy.
I owned the episode in question, and according to the commentary, the “IT” idea came from those little futuristic scooter-like things that are used in the movie Mall Cop. I guess when they first came out everyone was expecting them to “change cities”. Matt and Tray thought this was kind of ridiculous, so they made an episode to mock it. It wasn’t as much about the vehicle as it was about peoples over-the-top reaction.
*sigh* those “futuristic scooter-like things” are called Segway Human Transporters.
But which sounds less ridiculous? I’d dare say scooter-like thing is a trifle less than Human Transporter.
It’s not like these are the only two, they’re called monocycles
or monowheels, I had a friend who built one, he says it’s like “Trying to ride a wheelie the whole way.”
Also apperently they’re somewhat popular in Siberia as year-round alternitives to snow-machines.
Might as well say a circle TLL a round object.
Reminds me at the Gantz Manga
(click name for reference)
hell yeah! that’s the first thing I thought when I saw it.
I went “GANTZ BIKE!”
Handy to keep around in case of dinosaur chases.
The monocycle looks cool as hell, but I can’t imagine that it’s form brings any advantages over the standard two-wheels. It’s probably harder to start, steer and stop.
Indeed, they are very hard to stop. If you lock up the brakes, the wheel just keeps rolling, tumbling the driver round and round inside. Monowheelists call this “Gerbilling.”
Which is why the Giant Hamster Ball transportation method is superior.
Damien – you mean the Segway. There was a huge publicity build up before the unveiling of the Segway. This new invention was supposed to “change the world”. It turned out to be a stupid scooter. it’s impossible to ride one and not look like a patheric geek.
it’s a parody. ~_~”
I thought these were called “Velocipedes” but it seems that name can apply to most large-wheeled vehicles powered by humans, so it’s technically wrong here. “Monowheel” seems to be the accepted term for the design, and “monocycle” seems to be the best bet for describing a motorized version.
Just hope you don’t get a flat.
Isn’t “velocipede” just the French word for bicycle?
No, it means “really fast centipede.”
LMAO
He’s IN a wheel bike… what do you expect?
Portland , OR Police Department has a bunch of Segways’. They are faster (12 Mph) than walking on foot and can go places where a patrol car can’t.
They are used to patrol the central area of down town Portland around Pioneer Courthouse Square, and along the 4 mile stretch of waterfront park.
That is the Mclain wheel, and the IT is named after the code name for the Segway before it was released. The it was designed to look like the McLain wheel.
Either one’s better than dealing with the airlines.
Hell this isn’t a new idea at all. I saw films of this type of thing from the 1930′s.
Except where the guy with the round bike had a massive accident.
Lulz.
Wow, a parody of something TLL what is being parodied. Brilliant.
I agree…isn’t this site supposed to be about coincidences, not intentional references?
Yes I remember there was a year long build up of hype for the Matilda or segway. It was supposed to revolutionize mankind but noone bought one. Also of interest, when the inventor revealed them on conan o’brians show he claimed to have. Total faith in their stability, but when the hosts tried them out he chased after them as if he were afraid they would topple over at any time.
