  1. THE KING says:

    I wonder what’s for dinner!

  2. AfriCat says:

    This is not funny.

  3. jest ting says:

    the guy was a yank

  4. MLK says:

Most TLL users must be racist for this to make it to the front.

    • zippycat says:

It has nothing to do with race. They’re both albino, very similar looking, and have the same expression. It’s a TLL, not racist. Chill.

      • havin fun says:

And this commenter must be a race card player with a name like that. If that is not true than I guess that *assumptions* stink don,t they MLK?

        • TJBJ says:

Yeah, absolutely. I’m sick to death of not being able to make any kind of comment, humorous or not, about any picture of anybody who’s not “caucasian” (and what the hell does that mean..it certainly doesn’t mean “from the Caucasus mountains.”) When this picture came up a few days ago comparing Nick Nolte to the albino gorilla, nobody claimed that was racist. But compare a black man to a gorilla, and it’s suddenly racist? Guess what…the two pictures look alike! And it has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE! They look alike because they look alike! I know it’s difficult for the knee-jerk PC types out there, but try to wrap your head around that fact. The reason we still have racism in the world is because the PC types won’t let us stop defingin everything in terms of race…everything is all about “diversity.” Let’s start celebrating the things we have in common, instead of pointing out the differences all the time.

    • BigT says:

I find it more racist that you would ignore the similarities while only seeing an ape and a black man for the comparison. Are you suggesting that apes and black individuals have something so in common, that it could only be the only similarity? What if it were an albino white guy? Would you not draw the same conclusion about race? You sir, are a racist.

  5. JK says:

There’s really no racism here, chill out. They have exactly the same ‘expression’ on their face.

  6. david j says:

Geez, the “Race” card. Pull it from the deck once and for all!

  7. Failerella says:

an albino looks like an albino. wow. can’t believe it.

  8. andrew wg says:

Saying a person of African ancestry looks like a gorilla will always be racist. Would you say a non-albino African looked like a non-albino gorilla — and not expect to get punched in the face?

  9. albeyenoh says:

Haha it is funny! and a joke! yay jokes! and for them never being taken seriously ever! Cause they’re jokes!

  10. Mar.s says:

It’s very troubling that so few people find this as INCREDIBLY racist as it is.

    • JJM says:

I was thinking the exact same thing.

    • Zoreta says:

How’s it racist? We compare white people to dogs and the like all the time on TLL, why is any more racist to compare an albino African man to an Albino Gorilla? Would you be up in arms if I compared a white man with black facial hair to a pale chimpanzee?

      Double standard much?

    • ... says:

Being Racist is a choice. If you choose to see racism in this, then you are a racist. I for one did not even put two and two together to even think about this being racist.

The only way we will get past racism (which will never happen with people making comments similar to the ones seen here) is to stop seeing racism in every single thing that ever happens.

It has gotten better I will say. I can honestly say that I see my children being more oblivious to the race issue as time goes on.

Sorry to rant… but saying these things are racist is the only racist thing happening here today.

      • Napalmnacey says:

Your comment is completely and utterly untrue. It is false. It is the biggest and most horrible derail a white person can pull in this conversation.

It is the most racist thing in this entire post.

  11. sprent2922 says:

All you guys shouting racist. You do realize that as long as you consider things like this racist we’ll never be equals right? The second your over sensitive brains start yelling RACIST, you make any chance of different races being considered equal disappear. All you guys are doing is calling negative attention to a harmless joke. Until white guys can get a scholarship from the NAACP and a black guy can join the KKK there will always be racism in the world. Trying to make every small thing seem wrong does no one any good.

  12. Torico says:

Yes they look like gorillas, i’m not gonna pretend they don’t.

  13. ephercat says:

So, yesterday, Phyllis Diller was looking like a dog that was hairless except for it’s head. Was that racist? Hmmmm?

You that scream racism at everything want things equal but somehow you want it a little more equal for you.

    • fiendishrabbit says:

Or Nick Nolte looking like an albino gorilla 3 pages ago. I didn’t hear any “THAT’S RACIST” calls back then either.

    • Phantasteek says:

People of African ancestry have been likened to monkeys, apes, gorillas, etc, over the centuries by those who imagined themselves better than them and wanted to demean and degrade them. It’s the precident that makes it racist. It’s impossible to make this sort of comparision and ignore hundreds if not thousands of years of history and just call it a harmless joke.

      • MorganF says:

I’m sure it would be just PERFECTLY fine if you found out a person of African decent created this one.

why is it acceptable that a black man can call another black man a “n!gger” and not when a white guy does it.. And yet.. a lot of black people call white people honky/kracker… Why is that acceptable.. i agree with the comment “you want everything to be equal but you want it to be a little more equal for you”

        • Phantasteek says:

No, I don’t think that would be perfectly fine. I don’t think it’s fine for anyone to call anyone else the N word, honky, cracker, whatever, regardless of their race. I don’t think it’s acceptable. I think people should respect each other and not be jerks, and stop putting other people down for things that are inherent to their humanity.

          • Zoreta says:

So then respect other people and stop putting them down for using words. WORDS. As in language. As in what you just used. Ooh, you used language and language was used to harm people centuries ago… Hell, you used the same language as was used back then!

The first step to equality is to stop making double standards.

          • Please says:

If you’re just as concerned with racism against whites as you are with racism against blacks, then why do you refer to it as “the N word” but not “the H word,” and “the C word,” etc.?

      • Jadeder says:

if we keep getting pissy about all the names and things people can call us we will never outlive it. we will always be looking back at the past instead of the future. we need to realize that not everything out there is racist. yes there are sly people out there that put out racist things on purpose and then act ignorant but tll isnt one of them. they equally bash all people (animals and miscellaneous) all the time. so just take it in strides, brush it of your shoulders. the albino did look like the albino gorilla, and so did nick nolte.

  14. jesus christ says:

    seriously, it’s not that serious.

  15. Queen of the World says:

That dude is frightening me. I am literally shaking with fear and disgust because he is truly nightmare inducing. Thanks to the OP for insuring that I have bad dreams tonight :(

  16. drhenceforth says:

Look at the forehead wrinkle into a furrowed brow; look at the size of the eyes – their slant and their squint; look at the mouths – the shape, the teeth showing, the lower lip sticking out; look at the hair color… THIS GUY’s PICTURE looks like the albino gorilla in the OTHER PICTURE. Can’t it be possible that someone could agree the pictures look similar in a host of ways and yet not be a racist?
Having never seen the guy before, I’m guessing you’re telling me he’s a black albino? Hooray for him! I didn’t know until I read MLK’s comment that I was being racist for seeing the similarities. He looks like a goofy white kid I went to high school with.
Every now and then stereotypes intersect with reality in innocent ways, it does not negate reality nor does it make stereotypes less painful. It is in those moments that we have to play the value judgement game – is this picture racially offensive or is it an astute observation? That is for each to discern for themselves. Hopefully each time we all make that call we come closer to a center point of understanding. My apologies to anyone who thinks I’m being racist for agreeing, but he totally looks like an albino gorilla.

    • yathunk? says:

He looks that way merely because he is albino, moron. Not for any other reason. People and animals with albinism lack pigment, not only in their skin and hair, but in their eyes! They have very little protection from the sun and when hit square in the face with it they are highly impacted-hence the “squint and grimace” in BOTH PICTURES.
You are laughing at someone for being what they are! I can laugh at you because you obviously are ignorant and don’t understand how albinism works! And that would be humourous because with a little effort on your part, your ignorance can be cured! You obviously have made the decision to be ignorant of albinism when you could have changed that before posting, so you must like being that way!
As for being racist, people of African descent have a much higher likelyhood of inheriting the genes for albinism. I don’t think this translates in any way to gorillas, even though, yes, they also come from Africa. Snowflake, to my knowledge is the only known albino gorilla. And isn’t he gorgeous?!!

      • drhenceforth says:

        Dear yathunk?
My apologies for my ignorance regarding albinism. You fixed my ignorance regarding the common reaction of albinos to light and given me some knowledge that I clearly lacked. I will stow it away for some future discussions regarding albinos. If only could I could be saved from my eternal fate as a moron, things would be looking up for me. Alas, I guess I’m screwed because you just can’t fix stupid. We could treat me like a lame horse and off me if that will keep your world spinning. Sadly, my ignorance will stick with me everywhere I go… I pine for your omniscience.

In a touch of self-defense, I’m not laughing at the photos, I’m saying I see the resemblance. It isn’t a case of me laughing callously in the face of someone with a disability, this is a case of me saying, “yeah, they look like each other,” and you went and told me why they look alike, so I guess you see it too? By putting it in writing you’re as good as any other racist for noticing it, at least that’s how I perceive this argument. (Don’t worry, if I’m wrong you seem like the type to correct me, I’ll get my notebook and take copious notes.) Welcome to racist-ville, you’re just like everyone else here, I’ll get your “I’m a moron too…” shirt t-shirt and give you a tour.

I ask you to get off your high horse and stop acting like you’ve never laughed at something you really shouldn’t be laughing at. I promise you at some point you’ve laughed at something that hits home with each and every other person here individually that they would find appalling. I’ll see if I can find you a ‘dunce’ cap to go with your t-shirt. Please set your halo aside, it clashes with the cap.

        • joysgirl says:

Amen! Your position is intelligently and eloquently expressed! I’ll wear a t-shirt with you.

        • yathunk? says:

Don’t be daft! Of corse I’ve laughed at unfortunate people. I laugh at myself daily- and I find you most amusing! The nice thing bout riding the high horse is the great view.
And from that nice, clear perspective, I’ve noticed that I disagree with you. Your comment, ” By putting [my description of why albino animals squint terrifically in direct sunlight] in writing [I'm] as good as any other racist for noticing it,” is silly and carries no weight as an argument, because I in no way implied you are racist; simply poorly educated on the topic.
Let’s look at this rationally; you posted your first comment because you hoped someone would take notice of your superior wit and kowtow to you with knobs on. I responded, when no one else did, by calling you a moron.
I.e, you are really just upset because I called you a moron.

    • bodo says:

Ok, I had to read through the posts before I posted, because I wanted to see if anyone else was going to make this exact point – as others have said, it’s about the similarities in these two photos, not because of race. I had no idea he was of African descent (the man, obviously), I didn’t immediately think “Hey, that black guy does look like a gorilla!”, I didn’t even consider his race. It was not a factor. So how is this racist? Or am I feeding the trolls?

  17. yathunk? says:

Ok, so really what we mean is that all postings like these are speciesist! Poor Snowflake! Continuously compared to us when clearly he’s the better person!
The reason why is was funny with Nick Nolte is because he goes out of his way to ensure his personal grooming makes him look like Snowflake (a natural beauty!) Comparing Snowflake to some gentleman who, by the luck of the genetic draw, happens to ALSO be an albino is not comedy. If you laugh at this, you probably also laugh at handicapped people for “looking funny”

    • Rohvannyn says:

Jimminy f*uckmas, you people are really making way too much stew out of one oyster.

    • JayPea says:

Actually, I thought he was way cuter than the guy. And, I don’t think the picture was all about the guy being albino. I think it was his EXPRESSION that did him in. you have to admit, they do have the same expression on their faces! Had he been looking bored, English and upper crust with a stiff upper lip, I doubt the pictures would have been compared.

  18. Sarah says:

An albino animal looks like another albino animal. Big deal.

  19. BBB says:

    RACIST!

(Actually, I’m not sure if it’s racist or not. But when in doubt, I always pull the race card.)

    I’M SO OFFENDED!

  20. Steve says:

Ummmmm…… black people DO look like gorillas.

  21. sprent2922 says:

Honestly I could see this same TLL with Ron Pearlman. Some people just look like gorillas.

  22. Hanover Fist says:

When a person is upset over the comparison, they are actually acknowledeging the comparison as similar enough to the point that it hits a nerve. In other words if you don’t think that apes and africans actually look similar, then you would be not be upset at one individual comparison. No one thinks people were maligning all whites when they compared George Dubya and a chimp.

  23. Mom mom says:

Get. A. Grip. They look similar because they are both squinting in the sun, due to the light sensitivity common to albinos (at least all the ones I know!)
On the other hand, isn’t it interesting that even a gorilla has BETTER TEETH and anyone from the UK! Bwah-ha-ha-ha- !

    • We Love The NHS says:

Darnell Swallow was born in the UK but raised in St Louis and still has the approrpiate accent – but obviously the “wonderful” US medicare system didn’t extend to sorting out his teeth. GOD SAVE THE NHS!

    • Jadeder says:

but the gorilla seems more happy lol

  24. Mary says:

They DO toally look alike and I think it’s hilarious! Can we move on now?

  25. Jelly says:

I thought this guy was white!

  26. Super Bunny says:

I came for the unwarranted accusations of racism.

    I’m leaving satisfied.

    LOLz

  27. Squiggly says:

Oh my god this is totally offensive…

That poor gorilla being compare to a “reality” tv star!! D:

  28. swineflu says:

THE BEST PLACE TO DISCUSS MELANIN CONTENT IN SKIN CAUSING UNNECESSARY ANGER IS ON THE INTERNET BECAUSE IT ACCOMPLISHES EVERYTHING EVER

    400 BABIES

  29. Jack says:

Christ all the people who have conniption fits over stuff like this only do so because the media never quits harping on the “evil white man” and his white racist brainwaves that apparently cause any troubles/violent outbursts ever seen from the “black community”. If you’re white and you’re not ashamed of the fact, that must mean you’re racist… wtf?

Anyway the guy looks like the gorilla, and that’s just the way it is. Get over it.

P.S. The term “redneck” is the white equivalent of the “N” word. “Redneck” means “poor white person who had to do backbreaking labor in the fields and therefore got sunburned on his neck”. Poor and black deserves compassion, while poor and white deserves scorn? Pffft

    • Nostawyn says:

“Redneck” =/= the n-word. “Cracker” does. “Redneck” is more of a dismissive term for something not-classy, and it can be almost affectionate in some cases, a la Jeff Foxworthy. “Cracker” is the truly offensive term, or at least the term most people use when wanting to insult white people. I’ve never heard “redneck” used with the same inflection as “cracker” or the n-word.

      • Jack says:

“Cracker” means “crack the whip” so far as I know.

So if you call someone a cracker you’re calling them a cruel overseer.

  30. Jack says:

Ok apparently originally it didn’t refer to slave drivers cracking a whip, but white cattlemen cracking the whip to move their animals along.

Most people who use the term probably just use it as an insult without really knowing what it means, but if they attach any particular meaning at all, certainly “cracker” is meant to mean “slave driver” much/most of the time.

Only 2% or so of Southern whites ever even had slaves, but you’d think 9 out of 10 did. Also a disproportionately large percentage of Jewish people owned slaves but God forbid anyone mention that.

    • Nostawyn says:

Actually, I’m pretty sure “cracker” as an insult for poor whites dates from sometime around the American War for Independence. Most people agree that the phrase comes the fact that they ate a lot of “cracked corn”. But it was also used in Elizabethan England for people who were up themselves, iirc, so go figure.

Anyway, my post was not meant to correct your definition of the word so much as the way it is used. Maybe “redneck” originally meant something akin to the n-word (not even sure what the n-word means, but do please enlighten me) but it’s not used in the same way today.

      • whatthe says:

…and all this time I thought it was a reference to the general color of a saltine. Guess you learn something new every day, eh?

  31. Mary says:

Forget cracker – what about “Honky”? That one seems always to be used in a derisive tone. Cracker seems to be used more for poor whites from Georgia.

Redneck came from the fact that the farmers had a sunburned neck from working in the fields. Meant they were not rich enouch to have field hands to do the work for them while they sat on the porch drinking mint jeulips.

  32. Claire says:

Wow, that guy has some amazing brow ridges. I wonder where the neanderthal is in his ancestry…

  33. Marekatt says:

The viewers have to have someone they can relate to, you know.

  34. Chocolade says:

Hey, that’s not fair to the gorilla! :D

  35. clavier says:

Wow what a comparison, its so funny pics man.. I like it..

  36. Jena says:

I knew someone would say the comparison was racist! Hahaha. I’m Black. I think he does look like the gorilla with the expression on his face. I mean…I personally think Steve Tyler looks like a Cappuchin monkey…is that racist? Hahaha. People are so funny.

  37. Cristi Roe says:

BEST IN SHOW–Albino gorilla Gets my vote —Yes its all about Race —So what? Bunch o whiners!

  38. Miss Misti says:

I’m from the South. Blacks in the South tend to cross the street, or “skreet” veeeery slowly and whites would ‘honk’ at them. I don’t mind being called a Honky because its true!

  39. fas says:

Is he ethnically black or white, i can’t tell

  40. chFF says:

    how can it smile?

  41. Lestat the Brave says:

Late to the party, but seriously, I cannot believe ANYBODY would be offended by this comparison, black or white. They look SO alike. I remember watching the series of BB last year (ashamed to admit it, but hey; some folks love scat), and the moment he lumbered down those stairs and into the house, I thought ‘gorilla!’. Not because he’s black, but because he perfectly resembles a gorilla. Whites and blacks both are replete with a healthy dosage of ‘monkey faces’ (is a gorilla a monkey??). Where to begin… In the white section of the drawer, weee haaave Steve Tyler (listed above), Alexander Hleb (Google him, ball-fearers), George Bush, Paul Giamatti (did you know he was unrequired to wear orang utan prosthetics in Tim Burton’s misunderstood masterpiece Planet of the Apes, so alike was he to an orang utan in facial construction; all that was applied was a fine smattering of tangerine foundation!), tennis journeyman Sam Querrey, Steve Buscemi (some type of deformed sloth, anyone??), Robin Williams (that splendid pelt), ROBBIE Williams (cheeky chimp?) the list goes on… Now, for the black section of the drawer, weee haaa-haave: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (a chimp if ever there was one, let’s not deny this truth), Thierry Henry (a more slender, elegant chimp?), Barack Obama (ears only), Didier Drogba (King Kong with alopecia, this one; just show him a picture of Naomi Watts, I dare ya), I want to say the Williams sisters but haven’t the cruelty within my heart to– oops, just have; so include those two. Ermm, who else? How about we leave it there?

My point is, there are grotesque mofos within all races. Please don’t take to heart such features/comparisons as that above, my black friends. You can, as could all races, claim many a fine specimen as your own (except Beyonce; she simply can’t enter the equation; she occupies a sphere of sexiness all of her own). Deal?

  42. CHELOGE says:

    This is COPITO!!!
    from Barcelona`s zoo..
    He die 11/23/2003…
    Rest in peace!!!!

  43. Napalmnacey says:

The ignorance in this post is both astounding and heartbreaking.

Many of you need to buy a freakin’ clue and check yourselves.

  44. BigT says:

I find this completely offensive to gorillas. You are all racist and should be ashamed. I demand it be taken down.

  45. brianguy says:

    yeah pretty true… wow.

(btw, it’s the teeth, and the way he scrunches his nose in addition to the color of the hair, how is that racist)

  46. uni says:

oh my effing god you cannot compare one albino thing going “nrrr” to another albion thing going “nrrr”!!
