Whoever considered black people, or colored if you’d prefer, could be racist to whites? Hmmm? Answer that for me before you start saying every white person is a racist pig.

    • Zed says:

Yes, it’s racist because it said he’s black, you tool.

    • Edmund says:

I love how it is some sort of competition to be the first to yell “Racist!!!” every time the words “black”, “Hispanic”, or “Muslim” come up.

      Is he black? Yes.
Is it racist to say this is so? No.

Truth and facts are not racist. They are simply truth and facts. Formulating opinions based on skin/creed despite the truth or facts is racism.

      • Gandalfs Beard says:

Maybe you should read all the posts before posting. If you had, you would already know why everything you said is wrong.

Or at least you would be able to formulate a response to a post which has already refuted your point.

        • Edmund says:

Why don’t you save me some time and tell me why I am wrong?

          • Gandalfs Beard says:

Because I’m saving myself some time :P .

I (and a few others) have already posted numerous posts further down the page explaining it. Put on your reading glasses and do your homework :D .

            • Edmund says:

              [removes reading glasses]

I stand by my point. Honestly, what is the big deal? The only people who have benefited from the constant claims of racism are the trial lawyers. You are dealt your hand. You have control only over yourself. Love your life, and if someone is racist against you, you can either get over it and move on, or be miserable and whine. People whining about racism affect only themselves. This is not only this white honkey cracker’s opinion, but also that of his several very black friends and acquaintances. Oops. I identified their ethnicity. RACIST!!!! lol

              • Gandalfs Beard says:

You’re missing the point by a mile. Racism isn’t merely insulting someone. If it was, I would say, have at it. I rather enjoy a humourous exchange of insults.

But one can’t just “move on” from institutional racism that still disproportionately fills prison cells, denies loans, creates ghettos, provides substandard education and health care,…etc etc.

And just try moving on when you are “profiled” every minute of every day of your life.

I don’t deny that substantial progress has been made. But to deny that we still have a long way to go towards equity, is to deny the Truth.

And stupid TLLs aren’t an issue in and of themselves, but negative images coupled with with identifiers reinforce already existing preconceptions.

It behooves everyone of good intent (which I presume you have Edmund) to challenge the preconceptions and challenge the Individual and Institutional racism that still exists.

                • Edmund says:

My bad. I should have realized that it was simply impossible for a person of color to make any more than minimum wage, or to rise above their situation in even the smallest measure.

I am not even going to begin to point out all the ways that institutional racism has swung completely the other direction. I am afraid you have bought in to the notion that certain people are entitled to certain things through no action of their own. It is this entitlement mentality that is the primary cause of such dis-proportionality, not the “system”.

When you lead your life believing you are owed something, and expect that once you get it you will prosper, you start from a position of weakness, and will remain there. When you lead your life believing you are the master of your own destiny, and assume responsibility for yourself, then you will do great things. This is a colorblind fact. Everyone has obstacles, some more than others, but no one is in a situation they are unable to overcome.

                  • Gandalfs Beard says:

I appreciate that you are willing to actually engage the issues Edmund.

But again, you are missing some key factors. I’m not saying that progress hasn’t been made (I was very clear about that in my last post). Good Lord, we do have a president of African American (and European) descent. There are always a few individuals that have an incredible ability to move beyond adversity (with a little help from their friends). And racism is definitely on the defensive.

But the doesn’t mean that Racism is dead, individually or institutionally. It is still a powerful enough force in society that most people, who don’t have Superior Skills or strength of will, cannot overcome them on their own.

How does someone deal with African Americans being disproportionately imprisoned for crimes that many people of a different skin colour and economic class get a second (and third) chance on.

How does an individual deal with the poverty that affects people in minority communities at far higher percentage rates than others. Some of this is based on the redlining of districts that continues to this day. Just a few years ago, even as Obama was emerging nationally. Real Estate corporations were exposed as denying housing in “White” areas, and financial institutions as denying loans based purely on perceptions of Race. The Institututional problems still persist today.

Now it may sound great in an Ayn Rand Fantasy Story, but there really is no such thing as being a “Master of One’s Own Destiny” No Human is an Island unto themselves. We all live in a context determined by our environment, our community, and our genetics. And some people have obstacles intentionally put in their path as a community, by other communities.

And unfortunately, there are many situations that are impossible to overcome individually. And we are reaching a point in society, that even collective action may not be enough to face the challenges in some problems (such as the environment, and corporate control of the Government).

If anyone starts out believing they are “owed something”, it is those who are born into Privileged Races and Classes.

Your points might have some validity in a truly colour/class/and gender-blind society. But we won’t have reached that point until we have as many black, female, latino, etc. presidents behind us as we currently have white ones…And until their numbers are proportionately represented in Congress…And until institutions have swept away the barriers that are still in place.

I’ve said enough for now. But please Edmund, I kind of like you because you’re actually willing to engage instead of just spew, don’t take my word for it. Go out and educate yourself on the issues I’ve raised. I think you will be shocked at how far we still have to go in dealing with Race in America.

                    • Edmund says:

I see your points, and understand the validity in a certain context, but a certain thing has become very clear to me as I engage in discussions in this and other forums (meaning face to face debate, etc.). That is this: 99% of any person’s views can be traced back to the fundamental base which is personal vs. collective responsibility. I believe wholeheartedly (and almost solely) in personal responsibility, and it is my assumption that you lean more toward collective responsibility.

I believe the problem with collective responsibility is that the only way to attain it is through legislation/laws. Unfortunately, humans are innately independent, therefore all attempts to “collectivize” people will be met with resistance, and therefore fail, regardless of the intentions of the ruling class (yes, class), who in our case, I believe is more in it for the power grab, than the betterment of society. The conundrum is that in this situation, the more a society moves toward this goal, the further the goal moves away. Can you give me a definitive idea of when we will reach the perfect balance of legislation? Do you see any time in the foreseeable future that we will start trimming the obsolete laws? The honest answer to both of these questions is “no”. Government has started to grow rapidly since the turn of the 20th century, and has only gained speed (here, I guess I am assuming you are American, or at least familiar with our current state of affairs).

Personal responsibility is much simpler, and in fact, moral (don’t tune me out yet). How are we supposed to be moral if the only option we have is whether to be law-abiding or not? The Constitution of the United States was blessedly simple, in that rather than enumerating or granting rights, it simply acknowledged our natural inalienable rights (if you read it, even the simplest understanding would reveal that slavery is unconstitutional). I think the Bill of Rights, while very well intentioned, was a big step in the wrong direction. It suggested we as humans had no rights, unless they were officially recognized by the government. Don’t get me wrong, I am no anarchist. I simply believe that legislation should be left up to states, counties, and cities, in incremental doses respectively. That way, if something doesn’t work, or if I believe something that has been legislated is immoral, I have a greater influence on its existence, or I simply need not participate, and vote with my feet.

All this comes around and ties in with our discussion in an interesting way. Were I a person of color, and I came into contact with a racist that is blocking my growth as a person, I need to do one or both of the following:
                      1) Recognize the obstacle and take steps to overcome it.
                      2) Change the their mind regarding the color of my skin by demonstrating the behavior of an exemplary person.
Should the second fail, at least I have not sullied my name or caused the furthering of the stereotype as perceived by my obstacle.
In the case of collective responsibility, step 1 becomes near impossible, and step 2 is more difficult still. In this day and age in the grand old USA, there are so many conflicting laws on the books that one can hardly walk down the street without becoming a criminal in one way or another.

Black, Hispanic, red, white, whatever, every person who has become successful in an honest fashion has done so by overcoming obstacles, and being fundamentally independent. Those who attain success through dishonest means, well, just a look at many of the headlines over the years will indicate the endgame for their like.

I hope this makes sense to you. I am not so eloquent with the written word when given limited space. My arguments tend to become truncated. If you choose, I will give you the last word.

                  • bloop! says:

you are awesome. Gandalfs Beard is retarded and everything you have written is accurate. just thought id let you know lol

                    • Gandalfs Beard says:

Bloop, You’re such an imbecile you don’t even know what the word retarded means :P .

Edmund’s points might be more accurate in a Fantasy World that has no Racism in it. But it ain’t this world. Though some of his points regarding collectivism and individualism do have some merit.

And CalBal, care to join us for a threesome :D .

                      • angelok says:

Okay, what is up with all this stupidity? Why do black people always get mad when the term “black” comes up? But when any other race is defined by their color, they don’t care. Don’t give me the slavery, unequal rights etc.. BS because all other races have gone through some hardships. But NOOO every time “black” comes up you guys start riots. Okay exaggerating. But serious sh*t, calm down. But to you guys since I’m Asian that makes me Chinese, right? I’m yellow, right? Ignorance today.

Don’t waste your time trying to contradict everything I just said, because no one really gives a damn. It’s the internet.

                    • Edmund says:

Thank you, Bloop. Gandalf’s Beard, what really is gained by pointing out and complaining about racism? What real sway does anyone have over anyone’s life but their own? Answering this question should indicate how one should lead their life, regardless of whether or not this is a fantasy world.

                      • Gandalfs Beard says:

If you have to ask, you haven’t paid attention to History Edmund. Pointing out racism and other inequities in society is how we advanced to the point of electing an African American president. But he’s only the first one, and racism still exists on many levels of our society. As long as it exists (there will likely always be some) it is the duty of “enlightened” people to point it out and minimize it’s effects.

And we all have some impact on other people’s lives, some more than others depending on our circumstances. And often whether we like it or not. The idea that the “individual” and the “collective” are separate spheres antithetical to each other is an illusion, i.e. a Fantasy. This is why we each have a responsibility to be aware of the effects our lives have on each other. The greater the power over others, the greater one’s responsibility is.

                        • The Internet says:

And after all this typing, what have you achieved?
Neither of you are willing to agree with one another.
                          Nobody else cares.
The picture’s still up and still has ‘black’ in the title.
The world is just as racist as it was before you started all this.

Whether it’s racist or not, you’re not going to change anything by bitching on the Internet. Get over yourselves.

                          Black guy here, btw.
                          I mean…
                          Afro-Caribbean male here.

              • RiodeCali says:

I don’t think the person who wrote this intented to be racist. However I find it very offensive because not only is the work “black” unnecesary, but a picture like this is what keeps the around the belief that Non-whites are homeless or poor and uneducated. This picture should be removed, or the caption should be edited.

                • ~Lovely says:

And what? You feel that the sense of homelessness is implied? Haven’t you ever seen a picture of a homeless white person? It’s not just blacks that are in times of need. I’m sure everyone has accepted it.
And onto the word black… Now I’m sure everyone is gonna call me racist for this, but honestly… I think African Americans are a bit touchy. It’s a fact African Americans are black. Jeez. And yet whites have no problem with being called White.
                  Peculiar, isn’t it?
Racism will never come to an end. I’m sure of that.

      • inky blotch says:

Thank you! That’s the first good statement I’ve read, and I’ve read all of them. Why can’t people just get over it, and laugh ’cause its funny? I mean, it was surprising, but its not racist.

        • Gandalfs Beard says:

          @ The Internet (not too self-aggrandizing eh ;) )

I really have no idea whether you’re black or not, so it doesn’t support your position one way or the other.

I’m not for censorship in the least, but as long as people post racist stuff I am going to call them on it.

And why do any of us post on the internet? Because we’re all a wee bit narcissistic, and we hope that maybe our arguments will affect other people’s opinions. This totally belies your point that no-one else cares.

      • Forte's Serenade says:

I agree. You ignorant twits who scream “This is Racist” like a town crier are idiots. He’s black. Yeah, he’s missing teeth. I know what racism is. I’m African-American and had to suffer through racism. Kudos Edmund for showing people that the Internet isn’t just a place for dumbasses.

    • LOLTapeworm says:

Do you even understand racism?…at all?

    • Lilyth says:

You’re ignorant. How is this racist?
The caption says he is black. Is this man black? Yes he is.

  4. Me says:

OGM they rly look the same XD

  5. ChuvelxD says:

But really….why is he a ‘Toothless Black Guy’ and not a ‘Toothless Guy’? I’m not yelling racist but c’mon have some tact.

  6. Toothless Black Guy because he is Black not only Toothless and a Guy !!!

  7. Gandalfs Beard says:

Unfortunately, this one is kinda racist.

  8. Jesse Maison says:

Yeah, the adjective “black”, it slightly unneccesary.

  9. Andrea says:

Toothless dude, I choose you! BTW, this is somewhat racist.

  10. Daniel says:

It’s not racist you idiots, they can call a white person “white” but they can’t cal a black person “black”

    • Yukari says:

Exactly, I’m so sick of people trying to be overly politically correct. There’s a difference between intentional racism and a stating of facts.

      • Gandalfs Beard says:

Your point might be valid if there weren’t a history of negative Racist Stereotypes in Cartoons. The idiot who posted this might not have intended it ti be racist, but it’s still racist.

        • Gandalf's Boobs says:

It’s only racist if you make it racist. I could just as easily discriminate against all toothless people.
I took the PSAT the other day, and I noticed a special section on the answer sheet that was reserved for “Black” people. Why isn’t there a special scholarship program helping me out? I’m minority also…

          • Gandalfs Beard says:

Racists are the ones who made this sort of imagery racist for over 175 years, not me. That, oh my beloved body parts, is precisely why there is a special scholarship program to help African Americans overcome the history of Institutional Racism, American Apartheid and Slavery.

            • Luxord says:

Gandalf’s boobs, I just saw the same thing on wendsday. And a section asking for your Religion…

              Are you in Ohio, perchance?

            • Baby Maker says:

There can be no more excuse or reparations. In case you didn’t notice the president of the US is a black guy. If you can hold the highest office then you’re not being repressed anymore.

              • Gandalfs Beard says:

Obama won by emphasizing his “whiteness”. Which just goes to prove we still have a ways to go. And just because some middle class lawyer type who happens to be part black can become president, doesn’t mean he still won’t be arrested IN HIS HOME by some idiot white cop, as happened earlier this year.

Just because a part black guy is president doesn’t mean African Americans aren’t still being discriminated against at many levels of society. It just means that progress is being made.

                • Gandalfs Beard says:

And by the way, African Americans never received ANY “reparations” by the definition of the term. What they got, until the late 1960s, was Apartheid.

                  • Gandalfs Beard says:

First, I never suggested that Reparations should be paid, I was responding to an IDIOT (much like yourself) who said that Reparations HAD ALREADY BEEN PAID, when they obviously haven’t been.

And the only people in the USA trying to start Race Wars are White Supremacists and Zealous Angry White Idiots like you.

                    • annie says:

um excuse me everybody, Gandalfs beard could you plz tell me why you are moaning about racisment and you are being racist yourself? i mean i have many friends with darker skin tone and one’s with very light skin tones do i abuse them with stupid words? no i dont because i know what its like to be teased because of your skin tone as i am extremly white.

‘And the only people in the USA trying to start Race Wars are White Supremacists and Zealous Angry White Idiots like you.’ THAT IS RACIST. i like dark people. i respect them. from nelson mandela ,god bless the man, to my very best friends. so everybody just stop BEING HORRID.

                      Annie

an 11 year old who knows better than to be racist!

                      • Gandalfs Beard says:

                        @ Annie and Lovely,

Gee, I am so glad you’re not Racist!

But unfortunately you don’t know how to read!!! Why I you calling me a Racist for pointing out that other people are being Racist? That makes no sense.

I wasn’t calling the White Idiot an Idiot because he (or she) was white, but because they are an IDIOT (who doesn’t know how to read) who just happens to be white.

And this is obvious because nearly all the Idiots in America who don’t know what Racism is, happen to be WHITE (and yes, there are a few Idiots in every other Group too). It’s not necessarily their fault. No doubt they have good intentions and are just Ignorant of the facts of Racism. But it’s hard to tell when they go out of their way to display their ignorance in the most Racist way possible.

IF you bother to read through all my posts, you will have a good start on what Racism actually is. It’s not merely people “teasing” each other because of skin colour (or a British accent and Glasses as I was teased for as a kid).

No Indeed. Racism is about Power Relationships, and who holds the Political, Economic, and Social Cards, both today and in the past. It has a HISTORY.

Certain Images have a Historical Connotation that is undeniable. It isn’t the wording in this Lookalike that bothers me. It’s the context of the Imagery put it into that Historical perspective.

Now you two Youngsters have a lot of schooling to do. But you both “know” Racism is wrong, which is a good start.

But if you start learning about the History, Sociology, Politics, and Economics of Racism NOW, you will have a head start on many of the adults posting on this forum.

and who are you exactly gordon brown?

No Indeed. Racism is about Power Relationships, and who holds the Political, Economic, and Social Cards, both today and in the past. It has a HISTORY.

you may tease me because i am young but at least i talk sense.

You’re being a bit racist yourself.
“And the only people in the USA trying to start Race Wars are White Supremacists and Zealous Angry White Idiots like you.”
I find this statement extremely racist in it of it’s self. And I realize that comment was written in a moment of rage, but think. This all started because title was Toothless Black Guy. And it got to this? You bashing whites? That title never bashed blacks, which is what the are, however much you say they implied it.

Oh, yes and this is a 12 year-old speaking here. Ignorant as I may be, I know what I find truly offensive and I have an opinion about it.

                        Lovely,

                        Sorry ’bout that there…
To be frank, I was mad.
You see, I live in East Tennessee and I’m just tired of people saying we’re racist.
                        I took it too personally.
But anyhoo, my statment stands. This is ment to be funny ;)

                • DevilsAdvocate says:

That Lawyer deserved to be arrested. If that was a white guy you would not have a word to say. Just because he is black does not mean race is involved. You want to pull the “Do you know who I am” Bull$hit with the cops prepare for a night in jail. Idiot.

                • kitten says:

Oh will you just stop it.
Its not racsist because it describes what he looks like. That would be like saying that calling someone a brunette is racsist. Its just an adjective. Get over it.

                  • Gandalfs Beard says:

In all of my posts on this page, I never said that this TLL was racist merely because it used the word black. I said it’s KINDA racist because it compares “this toothless black guy” to a cartoon image with big lips that evokes a long history of RACIST CARTOON IMAGES very similar to this “comparison”.

                    Should it be censored? NO.

But if it’s racist I’m going to point it out.

                    • kitten says:

Why point it out? Your not going to change the world. Its a picture. They may or may not look alike depending on how you look at it. Also, its not the big lips that make them look similar, its the lack of teeth and the expression. It could have been on anybody, and it would have been equally funny. Seriously though, just look at it, laugh, and move on.

                      • Gandalfs Beard says:

I never suggested they didn’t look alike. And yes, it’s mildly amusing.

But why should I not point out the racism, intended or not, that this comparison evokes. Contrary to your statement, that is precisely how individuals “change the world”.

Did Malcolm X and MLK just “move on” and ignore the racism? I don’t think so. I’m not saying I’m in their league, but if just a couple of people at least consider that my comments might have some merit, it’s a step in the right direction.

            ridiculous.

        • Miri says:

There are many racist stereotypes of whites on tv – they are still there. You may not remember the early 70’s tv shows that were catered to black people (The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, Good Times). They were all making whites look stupid, and call us cracker ass, etc. That was ok apparently, and apparently still is. Who cares if he is labeled black?? He IS black. As long as he is not blue or green – what is the difference? If he were tall, he would be labeled tall toothless guy.

          • Gandalfs Beard says:

The shows you mention themselves fed into stereotypes of African Americans. Besides which they were comedies, the business of which is to make everyone look stupid.

            • annie says:

can you not see people are trying to tell you something?
this guy probably has signed a release for this picture or said its alright.

this is just a bit of harmless fun.

please please please just STOP THIS!

i cant bear people fighting it really depresses me

        • fus says:

If it’s not intended to be racist, it’s not racist………

    • Evil Me says:

So you’re saying that if he was white then they would call him “Toothless white guy” ?

…I don’t think so. That is why many find this wrong, including me and i’m not black.

      • Redwing says:

If he was a white guy the title probably would be toothless redneck. Sooooo would any of you be complaining then?

I don’t think so, so everyone can just shut up now.

        • Gandalfs Beard says:

Toothless Rednecks didn’t endure 400 years of Racism, Slavery, and Apartheid, which was only ended 40 years ago (within my lifetime by the way).

So calling a toothless white redneck, who is likely Racist to boot, a Toothless white redneck cracker, really doesn’t have the same racist connotations.

          • Crimson says:

I disagree, Gandalf’s Beard. You do make a good point, but to call a person a “redneck” is derogatory in and of it self, though not for the same reasons as in this TLL. The term originated as a statement of fact: men who worked outside in the Old South would have perpetually sunburned necks and backs, thus the term. Now, however, “redneck” gives an equally offensive connotation to “cracker” and the “n” word, which no one should say.

It’s also a terrible sweeping (and unfair) generalization to say that all “rednecks” are racist. I’ve grown up and lived my entire life in the South, and if most people would bother to actually visit or get to know some southern people, you might find that, while some are of course still racist, we are by no means an entirely racist people. That would be like me saying that everyone from any northern state is a “conservative, overbearing Yankee,” which is of course also wrong.

While you’re right in that “white redneck cracker” would not have the same racist connotation, it is nonetheless offensive and irrational to assume that everyone who might fit such a description is also a racist.

            • Gandalfs Beard says:

Points well taken Crimson. Very Thoughtful. Though, sometimes one is forced to respond in kind to insults, even if only to make a point.

In fact, terms like “redneck” and the like, are terms of Class Bigotry, which your point about upper class Yankees seems to address. But that’s a whole other kettle of fish, best left for a TLL featuring Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck.

And Jimmy Carter is an excellent example of someone from the South without a racist bone in his body.

              • Gandalfs Beard says:

I forgot to add, as Chris Rock pointed out, “Cracker” is a pretty lame insult, and not nearly as derogatory is the “N word”. No one really takes Cracker seriously.

                • DevilsAdvocate says:

So as Chris Rock pointed out huh?

Ok so the Black guy says it’s not insulting and it isn’t as bad so wtf it’s ok.

                  So tired of the racism.

                  • Gandalfs Beard says:

When was the last time you got called cracker, you dumbass cracker.

See, pretty lame, “Oh My God, someone likened me to a Saltine. I’m so offended”, Puhlease, if you can’t tell the difference you’re an idiot.

Anyway, it’s not the insult itself. It’s the Historical and current context of Racism, Enslavement and Apartheid, which apparently a lot of dumb white well intentioned people (like yourself I am sure) still are to clueless to understand.

                    • DevilsAdvocate says:

Am I to understand that the US invented Slavery? And that Blacks in Africa aren’t still partaking in it today? TODAY.

          • Redwing says:

Either all racism is offensive or none of it is. You can’t have a little of both.

    • urwrong says:

agreed. people shut up. he is, in fact, black. so get over it. you think he doesn’t know he’s black???

    • Gustav says:

Except that people rarely label a white person white. If this was a white guy, the headline would have read “toothless guy…”

When the media applies the adjective black unnecessarily when associated with negative things over and over, people start to associate the negative things with black people.

So, while describing someone as black is certainly not racist, but if you point it out unnecessarily when associated with something negative, you are being unintentionally racist.

  11. Jed says:

Very few of these actually make me lol. This one did.

  12. Tic-Tac says:

I didn’t actually notice the ‘Black’ part when I first saw it. Perhaps because where I live (Middle Europe) there aren’t so many black people and as such it is not a big deal here. But I don’t think it’s that outrageous, they call us white people too. However, I do agree that Toothless Guy would have been enough.

  13. Queen of the World says:

That is so racist. On behalf of all toothless black men worldwide, I demand a public apology.

  14. Eire says:

    So not racist. Relax.

FFS people, it’s a LOL. I’m sure whomever made the GD thing didn’t intend it to be racist because as we all know, bigots don’t have a sense of humor. All you overreacting politically correct people should just remove the stick from your ass and have a good chuckle like the rest of us.

  18. DevilsAdvocate says:

It’s predictable as the sun coming up. Black person in a lol = Racist. People need to get a grip.

    • Gandalfs Beard says:

Not true. There have plenty of funny TLLs featuring black people. Not all of them are racist, but some of them are.

In any case, the ones that are more racist are excellent opportunities for an “educational moment”. Keep ‘em coming. I’m all for Free Speech. Racists can be racist, and I can call them on it.

  19. fus says:

Why is there sooo much racism? Because people have to look at every single detail of every single word and no matter what anyone says, someone will find it offensive. Just let it go. If you’d let it go, there probably would even be as much racism to begin with.

  20. K-man says:

  24. Paige says:

okai okai it’s not racist. it’s only racist if the guy means black in a bad way. and he DIDN’T!!!! so stop being mean to this guy okai?!?! he didn’t mean it in a bad way!!!!! some of you better check your IQ cuz being racist in the dictionary definition means making fun of someone’s culture or heritage. SO YA IT’S NOT RACIST YOU GUYS! quit yelling at him 4 nuthing! i yelled at him and that was wrong of me to do that. YOU NO Y?!?!?!?! CUZ HE NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG!! why iz “toothless black guy” such a big fat deal with you retards?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  25. dethbyoogabooga says:

i’m just wondering on who posted this had to point out the guy was black? It’s obvious, just like he’s missing teeth.
All the post needed to say was guy – Loudred.

As far as racism, traveling to other countries, were being white is the minority, you’ll experience racism. Try walking into certain bars in Japan and they’ll tell you to leave because your white. It’s not just americans and it can happen to white people.

  26. BeautifulExplosion says:

    Loudred FTW

Finally someone appreciates these poor neglected Gen. 3 Pokemon.

  27. inky blotch says:

I think that it’s the funniest entry in a long time, and it made me laugh. But them saying “Toothlesss Black Guy” struck me as strange. Why didn’t they just say “Toothless Guy”? But I can’t get into the poster’s head, so I guess I’ll never know. But there are a lot worse things it could’ve said. I don’t care I just thought it waas funny.

  28. inky blotch says:

We are only happy if we decide to be happy. Nothing MAKES you happy, you just decide that it does. I think that racism was created by someone who gained pleasure from putting other people down and making them feel like monsters. Truth is, and you either except this or you don’t, there is no such thing as racism. There is only people who decide to be unhappy with diversity, and seem to think that being unhappy with it will make it go away. Nothing that they do or say will make the whole population of the Earth the same. So obviously, these people have a choice. They can be happy with the way the worlds people are, or they can be stubourn and grumpy and ruin life for themselves.

This world is all we have. We only have each other. And if we don’t appreciate that, we’re just ruining it for ourselves. So whats the point in being racist or politically correct? Lets just get over it and enjoy LOLz, hm?

  29. Sallyskittle says:

XD Pokemon! Right next to the awesomeness of Kirby and Sonic the Hedgehog sereis.

The best things on earth: Tails the fox, Rouge the bat, Cream the rabbit and her chao Cheese, Shadow the hedgehog, Kirby, and Jolteon!!!

    FEAR KIRBY CARAMELDANSEN! XD (>’_')><('_'<)

  30. wheeeeedoggie says:

While I’ve really enjoyed the flame war- I feel obligated to pint something out- being black could be considered an essential part of the TLL, just as much as the toothlessness.

…or have none of you noticed that the Loudred character also has dark skin. Guy- toothless and dark skin. Loudred- toothless and dark skin.

    • dethbyoogabooga says:

Loudred also is blueish, has teeth for his 4 toes and has speakers for ears. He or she is not human and is a cartoon character. whether there are subliminal distinctions for this cartoon to poke fun or be racially discrimintative is one thing. but the TLL i noticed was the size of mouth and lack of teeth but one is human, the other is a cartoon. the fact that the guy is black, has nothing to do with the humor behind this.

      • wheeeeedoggie says:

In your opinion. You don’t know what the OP meant. Loudred is bluish- the guy is brownish, but they are both dark. The fact that it’s included in the label indicates that the OP wasn’t just referring to the mouth and teeth.

Obviously they aren’t identical and one is a cartoon – that’s the point of a TLL.

It’s not racist to mention skin color. It’s racist to judge an individual based on a perception of group identity, usually negative.

  31. PogoStick says:

All it takes is one person crying “racist” on a TLL featuring a black dude to spark the same damn BS over and over again.

  32. totally racial, why would someone post this?

  39. daytripped says:

Sheesh you guys are like PETA for African-Americans.

  41. purple says:

  42. notapunk says:

  43. Some girl. says:

i agree with purple. you could of just toothless guy- saying: ‘toothless black guy’ sounds quite offensive. you wouldn’t like it if i said ‘toothless white guy’ now would ya?

I will brush my teeth more often.

  47. magdalena from sweden says:

ni är verkligen löjliga. hade någon sagt att det var rasistiskt om det istället handlat om en “tandlös vit kille”? knappast. som sagt, ni är fåniga!
