    One winful TLL, that is.

  2. Ivan The Atheist says:

Yes, I see it, but where’s the funneh?

  3. Conanarama says:

Seeing as both movies are directed by Tim Burton, it makes sense they look similar.

  4. Aime says:

Both movies are by Tim Burton. And have Johnny Depp in them

  5. Queen of the World says:

That is so racist. On behalf of white girls, headless horsemen, and sick and twisted trees worldwide, I demand a public apology.

    • TheObject says:

On behalf of Tom Burton, Paramount Pictures, and Walt Disney Pictures I would like to assure everyone that any resemblance was unintentional. We sincerely apologize if any offense was made, and assure the public that no negative feelings toward trees was intended.

    • anonymus says:

People got to stop doing this its REALLY annoying.

    • Blah says:

You know what I just realized! This TLL has NOTHING to do with white girls, or headless horsemen. Public Apology FAIL.

  6. zod says:

maybe its a crossover: allice in sleepy hollow

… sounds like a porn movie

  7. Jon says:

Maybe Burton likes to include a tree that resembles a part of his anatomy…

  8. Sally says:

“Alice’s” hair and dress look exactly like Christina Ricci’s did in Sleepy Hollow, too.

And yet none of my friends believe me when I tell them Tim Burton just makes the same movie over and over.

    • Adge says:

Yes, because utilizing a similar visual aesthetic means the movies are the same. Oooobviously.

      • SilverRain79 says:

Tim Burton = Edward Scissorhands + slight plot editing x Johnny Depp / Helena Bonham Carter

        LAME

And he used to be so talented…

        • Nostawyn says:

But Johnny Depp is already in Edward Scissorhands. . .

        • zoowii_joowii says:

          Haha, are you kidding?
You serious must be blind – no offence intended, but how can you say Tim USED to be talented? He’s a friggin legend! He’s so damn talented, and Johnny and Helena are part of his signiture. They haven’t been in every single one of his films, and they have to fight for the parts as people asume they will be in the film. Also, Tim brings to light many new actors, such as Mia W and Edward Sanders.

          • 142978 says:

lol, it’s true, I’ve seen The Black Cauldron, and that was not a good movie despite having Tim Burton’s fingerprints all over it.

        • Britt says:

Burton’s forte is his visual aesthetic, not his screenwriting. It always has been — that’s his art, but there is really no other way to present it other than in the form of a motion picture.

      • 142978 says:

If you like the aesthetic, it’s not a bad thing that it’s all the same, is it? No need to feel insulted.

When Tim Burton first appeared, he was quirky and weird and new, and that was cool. The aesthetic hasn’t changed, but it’s no longer quirky, weird or new because we’ve seen so much of it… and that was half his thing, right? The shock value of being twisted and unusual? It’s no longer “innovative” or “fresh” the way Edward Scissorhands or Nightmare Before Christmas were.

        • Sally says:

Yes! That is what I wanted to say.
Thank you for being eloquent enough to word it properly.

          • Britt says:

I see what you’re saying, but it stopped being quirky because he didn’t change it when it became popular. It’s his style. Van Gogh didn’t change his method of painting after people saw his work, and yet people still marvel at his technique.

I know that’s a bit of a stretch for a comparison, but you catch my drift.

    Who knew?

  10. waveisnmyhair says:

Tim Burton reuses TOOOONS of stuff
It’s kind of part of what makes it so fun being a fan when you notice how stuff is so similar

    • Jill says:

totally…even seeing Jack in James and the Giant Peach! That was great!!
No one has mentioned Henry Selick–who is actually the art director!! Take it up with him, too!

      Tim loves Roald Dahl–obviously!! :)
      Me too

  11. Dave says:

They both kinda look like the Whomping Willow, too. Just sayin’.

  12. Keramoon says:

They’re both from the same director… of course they would look alike…

  13. Nostawyn says:

It’s just the Tim Burton look. I love it. I wonder how he intends to splatter Johnny Depp with blood in this film.

  14. Emma says:

That’s because they are both tim burton.

  15. INventive says:

Homage. In this case, it’s ‘homage’.

  16. WednesdayM says:

Burton puts references to his other movies in other movies a lot.
I.E. There’s a lot of Skellington-esque figures that appear in his other films.

  17. Ellie says:

Well no duh! They’re both Tim Burton movies..

  18. Philip says:

The angle the tree bends at is different, the indentation at the top of the tree is bigger with sleepy hollow, the branches are all different, and the structure of the tree’s surface is different.

Really, the only thing they have in common is the fact that they bend at a relatively sharp angle.

    So no. No look-alikes.

  19. It’s totally lookie likieee.

  20. Nick says:

The trees do look eerily similar.

  21. ruth mcrae says:

well yeah, tim burton did both of those movies

  22. Bridge says:

Really, they may be the same tree, both being Tim Burton movies, they may have reused props. So, i would say definitly a look-a-like

  23. Mariah says:

Both made my tim burton, yes?

  24. Sarah says:

Tim is losing his creativity. xD

  25. Kelly says:

Tim Burton has certain trademarks in all his films! There is also always a tower in each of his films… Alot of his films also have characteristics reminiscent of his previuos movies!

  26. blondiexo says:

Might have something to do with the fact that Tim Burton did both movie… duh.

  27. cameron says:

seeing that they are both directed by tim burton, im not suprised.

  28. Nohbdy says:

It could very easily be the same tree……..

  29. Zak says:

I’m not suprised. EVERY tree looks like that when you drop acid.

  30. Cami says:

Meh, he found a equation that sells and now repeats it over and over again. I used to like him a lot, but now you see one movie and saw them all. Calling this kind of thing signature is senseless, artistic work is suposed to innovate and this “homenage” thing is reaching ridilicous heights.

  31. michaela says:

just shows you how unoriginal Time Burton is. if your looking for teeny poser-bizzare go to Tim Burton, if your looking for original weirdness eerie bizzare go to David Lynch. . . a true artist.

  32. Jon says:

well, considering they’re both tim burton films, i would expect some similarities in style.

  33. deaagenia says:

Dohh, Tim always uses the same kind of stuff… He opened both Sleepy Hollow and Nightmare Before Christmas with pumpkinheaded scarecrows.

  34. Stellar says:

People. Turn off the computer & go outside for a nice walk to clear your heads.

  35. jzrusreqa says:

    Tim Burton phail.

  36. Queen of the world extirminator says:

My job as Extirminator is no longer needed. I bid to you all a farewell.

  37. pjpanda111 says:

OMG!!! u ppl need to SHUT UP about if its funny or not or some other stupid thing. just comment! geez.

  38. chanelle says:

figures their both tim burton movies :)

  39. Paloma says:

How about you watch all Tim Burton Movies. He connects all of them with at least one thing from a prior movie. even in Batman the Light bulb at the party looks like Jack Skellington.

  40. duh says:

Not a coincidence at all. Both are directed by Tim Burton. It very likely is the same set piece.

  41. some person says:

Wow that is really creepy…but cool at the same time. Also tim burton directed both movies, and johnny depp is in both of them!!!!!!!!

    – 15 MORE DAYS!-

  42. Sam Auron says:

It’s a Tim Burton movie…both of them are.

I WONDER why they look alike…lawlz.
