Yes a pokemon that looks like a real world animal…. whoulda thunk it…
I would’ve picked Wooper.
Not to mention that the axolotl picture is heavily doctored…
i thought the mudkip looked shopped.
Yeah, you could tell by some of the pixels, and you’ve seen quite a few shops in your time, I’d bet.
axolotl arent that patterned.
they are fully flesh-pink or something like that
so…. i herd u liek axolotl?
I like mudkipz
Yo… I heard that.
Yo dawg I herd u like pokemon
*shot*
real genius. Next you are telling me meowth is a cat.
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say it ain’t so, Joe
And Pikachu is a pika with a long tail!
That is so racist. On behalf of all Mexican Salamanders being compared to sweet little Mudkip pokemon (let’s go ahead and add Marhstomps and Swamperts to the list) worldwide, I demand a public apology.
Stop making Nubbin/Furby all over again!
if its a Mexican salamander, how is it worldwide?
It has a valid passport.
hmm
maybe its the one that spread the swine-flu….
Don’t look at this picture for too long, or else you’ll become an axolotl yourself.
THANK YOU for that reference!!! I was hoping someone would make it
It’s supposed to look like wooper.
potrzebie! (ancient Mad Magazine reference: “Hooray hooray for the fifth of may. Axolotl canning begins today” What? Me worry?)
So, I hear you like axolotls…
So… I heard you like Mudkipz?
SO I HEARD
YOU LIKE
MUDKIPZ! I LOVE MUDKIPZ!
So…I herd u liek mudkips…
OMG REALLY??
would like to point out that axolotls do not exist in blue… they are white.
They can be black or spotted, orange with black spots, albino, white and also lots of other colours.
at the point of development that is pictured above, they are white.
And yes, in later stages of development they are varying in color but never Blue.
Hasn’t this been done already…?
So, a Pokemon based on this fish looks like it? Blows my mind.
Amphibian, but yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah, what’s next? People notice that the Phoenix from Harry Potter looks like a giant bird?
This just in: Great White sharks look like big fish with sharp teeth.
So, I herd you liek axolotls?
Zomg! I never noticed! Axolotl realldy does look like a mudkip! What a coincidence!
this looks to cute to give up i want the animal and the pokemon =)
I HOPE U ALL LIEK MUDKIPZ!!! lol
I hope you all die. I hate you all and you all suck. >:(
And what did you think they base pokemon on?
anything that brings in more revenue.
Fix the order, the axolotl is based on the Mudkip. Mudkip was first, fix it!
true dat
Animal TTL Fictional character based on animal previously listed.
Yep, no fail here.
Wow, old TTL is old, big deal. And stop trying to start Xzibit lines, it’s not happening.
Whoa, wait a second…
Charizard looks like a dragon!!! HOLY CRAP!
Actually, nintendo said that wooper was based of the Axolotl, not Mudkip.
Mudkip is probably supposed to be an Axolotl. The resemblance is too similar to be coincidence. (Unless, of course, that photograph was completely doctored.)
It was, actually. Axolotl do not have that colouring.
that picture of the creature is modified to look like mudkip. -__-”
wooper looks like an armless blue beaver-like creature that got shot through the head with tv aerials while mudkips looks just like the axolotl. The picture is just modified by color, the creature itself is unchanged otherwise.
HEY u no if u squintz a squirtel l00ks liek a TORTOIZE!!!1!
Yo dawg.
I think he looks more like a swampert! That’s the final evolved form of Mudkip. I want one of those as a pet! Looks snuggly <3
I HERD U LIEK……..
WRONG! The Pokemon Wooper was inspired by the Axolotl. Wooper looks so much more like an Axolotl than does Mudkip. You would agree if you knew your pokemon…
yeah i agree,
that axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) has orange spikes out of its head, but no head fin
“A sexually mature adult axolotl, at age 18โ24 months, ranges in length from 15โ45 centimetres (5.9โ18 in), although a size close to 23 centimetres (9.1 in) is most common and greater than 30 centimetres (12 in) is rare. Axolotls possess features typical of salamander larvae, including external gills and a caudal fin extending from behind the head to the vent. Their heads are wide, and their eyes are lidless. Their limbs are underdeveloped and possess long, thin digits. Males are identified by their swollen cloacae lined with papillae, while females are noticeable for their wider bodies full of eggs. Three pairs of external gill stalks (rami) originate behind their heads and are used to move oxygenated water. The external gill rami are lined with filaments (fimbriae) to increase surface area for gas exchange. Four gill slits lined with gill rakers are hidden underneath the external gills. Axolotls have barely visible vestigial teeth, which would have developed during metamorphosis. The primary method of feeding is by suction, during which their rakers interlock to close the gill slits. External gills are used for respiration, although buccal pumping (gulping air from the surface) may also be used in order to provide oxygen to their lungs. Axolotls have four different colours, two naturally occurring colours and two mutants. The two naturally occurring colours are wildtype (varying shades of brown usually with spots) and melanoid (black). The two mutant colours are leucistic (pale pink with black eyes) and albino (golden, tan or pale pink with pink eyes).” Wikipedia
woopers (pokemon#194) have no head fin, and brown spikes, that look like a TV arealX airelX airealX antenn
“Wooper is a mostly blue amphibious Pokรฉmon that bears a resemblance to a real-life animal known as an Axolotl. Wooper stands upright on its small, round feet, and has a large, thick tail. Wooper also has purple-colored, branching gills coming out of the sides of its head, and what look like dark-blue, curved gill-like markings on its torso. Wooperโs head is large compared to its body, its mouth is wide and its eyes are small, round, and black in coloration. Female Wooper have smaller gills on the sides of their heads”-Bulbapedia
“The Pokรฉmon Wooper is directly named after the Japanese “Wooper Looper” axolotl marketing phenomenon, and looks much the same as an axolotl.”-Wikipeda, Axolotl article
Mudkips (pokemon#258) have a massive head fin, and short stubby orange spikes.
“Mudkip are small blue Pokรฉmon with large heads with orange star-shaped external gills. They also have a fin on the top of their heads and a light-blue fin for a tail. They move around on all four legs. “-bulbapedia
They always get the Totally looks like part backwards. OMG a real creature looks like a fictional creature! FAIL
Definitely shopped.
Here is the real picture:
