It’s the (semi) lead person from an anime called ergo proxy, to some the same. How many people call Link (from the Nintendo game serie) Zelda. While in fact zelda is quite the female character. Although when you look at link (wearing a maillot and an earring) you wonder….is it a boy?
the SERIES is Ergo Proxy, the character is Re-l Meyer, who is possibly a clone (or part clone) of Monad Proxy. Ergo Proxy is Vincent Law.

Actually you are kind of correct. The producers, director and animators of Ergo Proxy did base the look of Rei-L on Amy Lee. There are articles about it online. One of them was a fan of Evanescence and thought Amy Lee’s look was perfect for the character.
Lol. “Ergo Proxy” isn’t a singer, it’s an anime show. The girl above is a character in the show. Youtube it or something.

When you take a square crop of Re-l’s face, sure it’s gonna look like the Fallen cover. The same could be said if you cropped a photo of any attractive woman who parted her hair in the same way. In this case, the cropping leaves out Re-l’s “hair ears”.

One IS famous, and the other would be considered just as famous for anybody who’s into that anime.
Well, Ergo Proxy is pretty famous if you know anything about anime or are into that kind of visual medium.
Ergo Proxy is rather boring. Serial Experiments Lain is very similar but at least more interesting.
