I don’t know if this is a legit poster, but that silhouette is of Mark “The Undertaker” Calloway. His whole character is spooky and death related. (ie: urns, coffin matches, rising from the dead) So bats actually kinda fit along with his motif. The weird thing is it sounds worse than it is, the guy’s 6’10” with pasty skin and pulls it all off really really well. It’s the longest running “character” currently in WWE

I work for the WWE in the Creative Services Department and I’ve asked around and this poster isn’t real. The WWE didn’t put this out, it was probably some fan that thought this would be funny. I lol’ed but it’s fake.

Well, I guess they bounce ideas off people first before doing it…Like “We’re thinking of a movie based idea for this Pay-Per-View poster. Who do you think relates to (blah) the most?” They show a few drafts and they select one to be sold. I’ve never seen either poster it till now. Sucks that they didn’t try too hard. I mean a tombstone or something would probably give the idea away less. I could have probably done this with Photoshop and I’m no expert. But I think this would have worked perfectly if WWE did this back in 1999, when the Undertaker reached the peek of his Ministry gimmick and was wearing the Batman based ring attire. Still simple…but a good promotion. I’m sure WWE cleared with the company who made the original poster anyway.

I usually don’t even read the comments. In this case, I read them because I had to know whether this was the big old fake that it is. Surely the art department at the WWE can come up with something that isn’t a total hack job copy of something else. If they can’t do that, I’m a graphic designer, I’m 30 minutes from Stamford, and I totally need a job.
To get the job you might want to pay a LITTLE more attention to the product. If you did, you might realize that the poster is a fake. It’s fanart.

My parents couldn’t get one when I was a kid, because the trailer park up the street had all of them that the area was allotted for. WWE is very protective of their own trademarks, so I really can’t see them infringing on someone else’s. I’m with the others who say it’s fan art. Backlash is no longer a WWE PPV. They replaced it. It’s amazing to me that the people who recognize this as a fake are being called immature, ignorant, and stupid. The people who say “WWE should get sued for a fake poster that they didn’t make.”are probably the informed ones.
WWE does do a lot of movie poster knock offs, though.

The posters are meant to look very similar why??? Because The Undertaker IS the Batman of the WWE. His character exemplifies Judge, Jury, and Executioner. Its’ reading between the lines and seeing the similarities in both characters which I believe is very creative on part of the WWE to link the two chararcters by way of posters.
